  • Throttle-ratchet springy thingamjig

How many of you take the ratchet spring thing from out your Tx throttle.
I have read a couple of times that heli people take them out so it gives a nice smooth movement and because they dont hold the throttle in one place like our fixed wing brothers.

Just curious, I kinda like a bit of friction but im a noob so might try it tother way too :-)

I flatten the ratchet spring to give as smooth a feel as possible but retain some friction to keep the throttle in place

I have just taken the spring out and now the stick flaps about under its own weight. Though it does seem better on the pheonix when flying :-)

I think I will pop it back and just bend it up a tad to give just that tiny bit of stickshon . trial and error I guess.

EDIT: Just popped spring back and then backed off the screw so its just about free but has a tad of stickshon :-) will try that for a while

I have no ratchet on mine. 1 of my mates files a SMALL grove at mid stick and puts a SMALL centre punch mark on the metal bit at mid stick so he can feel where mid stick\zero pitch is.

I turned the spring upside down so that the V of the ratchet points up..
then tightened it down again slightly... so theres still a little resistance but its smooth running.
