Been into Midland to pick up bits for exactly the same problem!!! (they though I was you!!)
Night flying flat out forward when the rear swash/servo joint popped and sent her soaring up and away!! Managed to hit throttle hold and she hit a hedge on the way down taking the sting out of the impact. Still cost me Night Blades, Main spindle, Feathering spindle, canopy and two servos...
        Swap the links to Quick!!!!

Been flying Kalt, Robbe, T.T., Vario, Align, for nearly twenty years, first std link I've had let go.... It's a good agile heli with p.ss poor links. Just bought Quick replacements, retail for £8.00, what a shame Ely didn't talk to them first and save me the £150 on replacement blades and other parts....

Defo an option on upgrading the links........i just wish mine could have bounced into a hedge to cushion the impact..........

thats not good..sorry to hear that.....i think thats what happened on ians(bucaanners)the swash plate will be everywhere once that link pops off.i think this can happen easily when you are using incorrect arm lenghts/or a disk that isnt cut away to except full swash plate travel/im sure yours wasnt the case but there is lots of people doing this..thats why i will you tube a few ideas on swash set up.it might just help a few people
                    thanks craig simmons

i must say guys we have totally abused the elyq 50.and have -11 to +11 and we have had no popped off links or problems at all..its hard to say that a link has popped off when you look at the wreckage in a million bits... not saying yours didnt come off but you cant say 100% they did.i think if people fit smaller servo arms than recommended like rob did thats not the helicopters faults and after assembling you should alway check for binding and generally pull at the links etc to check for problems..
if you go to a model display your model gets checked by the marshals they will pull the links and check everything on the morning before the show, then normally put a sticker on the helicopter to say its been checked..just like pre flight/post flight checks..its just one of them things we should do but i never see it done at the field..but i would expect you to do this on your A cert
i think more pre flight check should be done here
                      thanks craig simmons

I've always looked upon links as a wear item and changed them during routine maint. Pre-flighting is something I'm pretty used to, have nearly 700hrs on full size... Mine wasn't even set up for wild 3d at +10^ -10^
Don't get me wrong, I like the heli and for the price you can't beat it! Change those links though...

glad to hear it andy..i know ian does too..but im just mentioning some pilots dont.but what ever you do dont use arm shorter than 19.5mm long and when the swash plate is at the bottom and rear cyclic is inputted the servo travels around the arch of the servo levers the ball of the swash plate.this can happen on all the servos...as seen below some people just dont follow in the instructions and this picture shows a disaster waiting to happen..also there will be interaction and because there isnt enough movement you need to up the travel epa/making interaction and balls popping off all the more possible.
                          regards craig simmons
DONT USE SMALLER SERVO ARMS...you have been warned.at least 19.5mm

I'm now in the process of the new build......some of you may ask why waste your on a cheapo plastic fantastic.........,simple really, the heli is awesome in flight, quick response and agile, and when fitted with a redline........jeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzz it can shift.....
