  • Replacing MCX Rotor Hub?

I just snapped off the plastic rotor hub/ flybar holder (flying under obstacles - you guessed it). Anyone have experience of replacing that part yet? Just wondered how it went. Ted

Easy. Only need to remove the flybar and fit it to the new part. Undo the collar under the 2 main gears, just loosen the 2 screws enough to pull the hub and shaft out and then slide the new one in and refit the collar

I just ordered two of these from Hobby Hangar. Been lucky so far. Had lots of spills with the mCX and still on the original parts. Fingers crossed.

Ok - I've got the part delivered in record time from RCPitstop. I've rigged the flybar to the new hub but the MCX is flying poorly. Question for you brains out there - does the flybar have to be parallel with the top rotor to fly properly? Ted

Here's a pic of how I've put it back together. What's wrong? Wondering if I have the Hub orientation incorrect in relation to the flybar?

Don't overtighten the stabiliser bar. It should pivot freely. The screw should be tightened just enough to stop it popping out.

You can fit it either way round, and should still be ok.

Thanks A, I'll try loosening it now. Can anyone send a pic of the correct set-up?

looking at your pic, it looks as though you have not slotted it in correctly. I will get a pic up in a mo

hub screw loose - MCs gets off the ground and but very unstable and starts wobbling in hover and tips over. Just wondering what's gone wrong as I've put it back together? humm

Hope that you can see the stabiliser bar sits into the hub, and it should pivot freely like a see-saw..

Hi A, Thanks for the pic. My flybar is sitting nicely in 'hub trough', see-saws up and down easily, screw at top of hub nice and loose. What's the circular hole in hub for? T
