  • Do i get a rave or wait for the 450 pro

Starting to get itchy feet on the 450 front. was going to get a rave the end of last year and held off for a bit mostly because of money and unsure as i had heard rumors about a new trex 450.
Really like the look of the rave and it seems to be a great performer, but seeing the 450 pro in the new vid makes me think i might make the wrong choice.
i want to get a 450 soon before the summer comes, as this is the time of the year when i use 450's the most as you can take it down an empty park when you get a weather window
    What do i do guys

    Go for the Rave.
I've seen it in the flesh and I think its made well with some innovative design.
    Fly's good too.

Depends how much you're going to need spares (crash) I guess? Ordered some parts for my G5, three days later, I get an email from Blink saying, 'we're processing your order!' If It was Align and I had ordered from Fastlad, I'd have had them in my grubby mitt the next day.

As Rob says, it's a great heli, just might be frustrating waiting for parts, especially when you know the next weekends weather - and you just know it's going to happen - is going to be stunning...

        Worth considering,

        Gary

down time is a big factor to bear in mind,, and you can align spares anywhere.

            Hi guys.

            What about the Furion?

Nobody mentions it much. Is it not worth it?

The Furion is a good heli too, but not as good as the Rave IMO.
It doesn't swing 350mm blades either so it still has that skittish 450 size heli feel to it, which the Rave and especially the G5 don't.

              Cheers,

the g5 is cool, so many options on motors and setup you can make it a 3d deamon or stooge around for 6mins plus.

blink are a small outfit but they are working hard to get stuff out the door quicker. rupert is quite often in early and late to get stuff out the door as quick as possible.

If Jamie Cole thought it was complicated to build, it puts me off with repair costs, the head looks way over the top and i think if you went in on power it would cost a fortune on parts, and as i like trimming grass with smaller elecs, think it would be a bad idea

                    Um... ok?
                    That's very puzzling

is he kidding, the G5 hard to build???......that's too funny

Honestly if you find the G5 hard to build then you really need to stick to contra-rotators.
Also if you read the crash comparison costs that were on this very site not long ago you would have seen that the G5 is very competitive on spare costs. Plus I did full build videos for it, so you only have to watch and follow along if you really can't cope with a simple build.

G5 is but ugly, buy a Rave and drool over it instead. You can have a go on the one I have if you like.

well, you do have to consider what you like the look of but I happen to think the G5 is one mean looking heli.......and it flies better than the Rave.
