Royal Mail Charges...

Something i ordered from the US arrived today. cost $32 in total. Customs put a charge of £2.39 on it. No problem, was half expecting that.

Royal Mail however slapped a whopping £8 on it for the privilage of transporting it to their depot and then collecting payment in full.

Geez, I know everyone has to make a living, but £8! I almost

I try not to order anything from over the pond as I always seem to get stung for customs etc. Last thing I order were some parts for my 1/8th truggy, parts came to £22.00 and on reaching here I had to pay a total of £17.32p to get them.
The vast majority of the time I use my LHS when possible or a UK supplier, if I need to buy abroad I'll try and source stuff from the far east as I've only ever had to pay customs once.

Don't the US use NTSC where as in the UK it's PAL which has higher res then the Yanks?

NTSC - Never Twice Same Color (us spelling)
PAL - Picture Always Lousy
