  • 3Dx450 v Trex 450 (basic)

Having put together my sons mini pred this week after an inexplicable crash.

The blasted thing has gone and broke some other parts on its self tonight.

Anyone had dealings with the 3DX450 as sold by Blink and Sportsmoto.appx £150.
They obviously are made to a price but for what my son is capable of they should be better than a "pred"
The only other alternative is the "basic" Trex450 G10 setup appx £150.

The other options are 2nd hand Blade400 or Twister 3D Storm.

    Thrown open to the "wolves"

Can't reply to thread tonight as its "beaks under wings and all eyes closed" time.

    Cheers

    Peter

Try the Mini Titan at for less than £140.00 with speed controller & motor it is what I have decided to get. All plastic parts but very cheap to repair and some say better than Trex 450 certainly similar for a lot less outlay.

My 3dx450 is still my main helicopter; in general I'm happy with it but it has a few niggling issues which I've recorded here:

The 3DX isn't really that much cheaper than the Trex 450SEv2; once you add the cost of a decent motor and ESC you're back in trex price territory, albeit with your choice of kit. The 'new' 3DX with one piece tail case and other niceties might help resolve some of the issues I had, though.

The Blade 400 continues to be the heli I wish was around when I was starting out, though.
