Aldi have this jump start box in again this week.
£31 - i think it was 39 last time.
This is 17Ah.
Is this a good value for 17Ah lead acid pack? (17x12 = 204Wh)
how much less than the claimed capacity will something like this usually be?
I'm hoping that the battery type is like a leasure battery and will tolerate hefty discharge.
I guess plugging it into the cig lighter while driving the car about would keep it charged up enough and it could be left in the car most of the time.

Anyone buy one in the past? how good are they?

I bought a really cheap £15 one off a market stall and it can barely charge two 450 packs before the charger alarms low voltage.
I want something that will charge two 4200 5 cell packs (4.2x 21x.75 = 80 Wh?) I'm guessing that is too close to the limit and I might need two

I have one similar. Really useful, but not a leisure batt, a medium sized lead-acid gel starter batt.

won't do many lipo recharges mind.

If you can hold off until nuneaton i will see if i can get a van full of seconds (stationary battries) the last lot were 12v150Ah. but this can vary from 15Ah to 300's.... I will be at the knight flyin as last year if they run it again...

Hi gordon i bought one last time in aldi and took the battery out to use in my flight box
and what a load of crap it was went flat just fueling up my heli after an overnight charge
next time i see you you can have it to put under your wheel when your stuck in the field HA HA

i got a charge and start as well from Local motor shop .. best £30 i spent ... can run it all day with out charging and charge my 3s lipos 4 or 5 times for my plane and also starts my nitro helis ...
