  • Hitec optic 6 sport receiver setup???

Hi guys, I have listed up this FIRST question but no one replied and I really need an answer, so I have put it in here:

Ok, I am making an acrobatic 6 ch plane, I have fully setup the body, I just need to do the electronics, I have a hitec optic 6 sport TX and have setup the model slot for the acro plane, but then what do I do e.g how do I "bind" the receiver to the TX, because the instructions just tell you how to setup the exp etc after showing you how to setup the slot, it does not say what to do with binding the receiver.

Also, I know nothing about crystals, do I need to get a specific one for my TX and keep on changing the crystals in my TX to work with my heli AND plane? and another quickie: I have a spare 4ch RX from my old night ranger heli, would my TX work with this RX even though TX is 6ch and RX is 4 ch?

I also have one more Q, Last night I setup my ACRO model number 2 slot, my twister 3d storm heli is in model number 1 slot, to get back into the heli model slot to fly it, I had to do the same thing as when I setup the ACRO slot, I held down the 2 edit buttons then turned the TX on, because this is the only way I know to get into other model slots, but when I went into the heli slot I had to set it all up again, Is there an easier way to change models in the TX?

    Thanks soo much, Lincoln.

Opitc Tx is 35mhz or 72mhz usa ... so you don't have to bind the Tx to the Rx , but you do need the right frequency of xtal in both Tx and Rx ...
Yes a 4 channel Tx will work with a 6 channel Rx on 35mhz ...

As for the last question can't help as dont own that Tx .... Hope the rest helps ...

Ok, great, thx for your quick reply, what does xtal mean? lol and what about the crystals, whats the bussiness with them? and i did not mean will a 4 ch TX work with a 6 ch RX I meant it the other way around, will that still work? so, if I buy a 6 ch RX and setup the model slot and all the servos connected and stuff, then will it magically just connect to the TX by itself? is that what you meant?

      Thanks alot, Linc.

The frequency (set by the crystals (=xtals) in both the transmitter and receiver) determines which transmitter the receiver listens to. One transmitter per frequency.

Extra servo channels on either side are simply ignored.

          Hi Helibo

I used to have this TX. The TX and RX will have to be compatible with each other i.e. a hitec RX and will both have a crystal of the same number to work off each other. For example - you put a 35 mhz crystal in each and then make sure the crystal number match each other in that frequency range. Hope that makes sense. There is no need to bind. I think you can also get a Hitec RX that does not require a crystal although you still need it in the TX. Make sure you get the right RX for the frequency you are using though.

From what I remember there is no other way of changing models apart from pressing the two buttons method.
