  • Ely.Q Vision 50 Ultimate build article published

I have just published my Ely.Q Vision 50 Ultimate build article on www.50-tuning.com.

It's a fairly lengthy article, but covers the build from box to flying

Anyone who is currently building or planning to build one of these kits might find it useful!

    Cheers,
    Rob

Having seen Rob actually fly this heli I can vouch you will not find a better heli (plastic fantastic or not) for the money.

£156 is just an amazingly low price for a brand new 50 size airframe.

On the cooling fan assembly the manual shows a locking nut to put on the crankshaft after the hub. You didn't mention that or show it in your pictures. Is the manual incorrect?

Is it your preference to put the hub on with loctite? I have found it is only necessary to use loctite on the locking nut, that's of course if this kit has one.

          Yes - per the article

On the cooling fan assembly the manual shows a locking nut to put on the crankshaft after the hub.
Good catch, thanks! - I must have missed that in my notes when writing it up! I will update it...

            Nice write up Rob.

I hope the company gets a decent amount of sales to stay in business.

dunno whether rob mentioned.that the latest kits have been altered a little...as in the tail blade holders are now thrust raced/and some parts that people struggled with..ie attaching the metal ball onto the plastic tail pitch slider ring.(a few split).also on the tail pitch lever..these are now pre intalled,so no problems there and this is done in other so called problem areas.so thats brilliant.
elyq have sorted the teething issues out and know have a winner kit

I'm glad to see they have thrust raced the tail hub - although I haven't had any trouble with the original to be honest.

This does mean my new writeup is already out of date though!!

I've just added the flight video I recently posted on here to the build article.
It's bigger and looks half decent.

That hyper's still sh... rubbish though

yes rob.its actually listed as a version 2...it is haha..but your correct in saying it doesnt need a thrust raced tail..but it is and it looks cool..same blades grips just 1 bearing(not two) a one thrust race in place of the other bearing.there is a new slip in the instruction explaining the build

thanks for the review rob it looks great

rob hope you dont mind me mentioning..that the servo arms look a little short on the cyclic and are on a very slight angle..maybe a servo arm with an extra hole would make the link vertical(instead of the slight angle as on the pics)as we did the same and found a little interaction.when a longer servo arm was fitted it was loads better..as the arc of the servo rotation creates the problem

                            regards craig

                              No problem at all.
I could try it on the 4th hole instead, but I set it up per the manual for the build article... The balls on the servo horns are 13.5mm out from servo centre, which is 3rd hole on a futaba horn.
Worth a shot - I've not had any interaction as yet though!

                              Cheers,
                              Rob
