  • Mini pred, first time, two Lipos......and ??

    Still in one piece

Give me a pat on the back chaps, im chuffed.. Had a couple of "quick" landings but hey, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing right ?

The Pheonix sim has helped hugely but i also think that getting my little Buzz fly hovering in my front room has done the trick, after that the Pred seems positively docile. I even managed a tad of forward flight. Im not doing any of that crazy nose in hovering though for a while !!!

One Question I do have though, the model flys/hovers very well after a trim but as the batteries weeken I found I had to keep trimming every now and then. I suspect this is normal but can anyone confirm this for me please.

One tip for any other noob, tape up your 3D switch to Norm !! I taped a pen lid over it to stop any accidental switching !! its not going on until I tell it

    Cheers all

It is quite normal to retrim the rudder as the battery discharges. Shouldn't have to retrim aileron or elevator though.

Well done on your hovering Carl. This hobby is full of little (and big) milestones, and every one of them extremely satisfying once passed

Yep, just the rudder. had to pop it on the deck though to do it until i got used to the amount to move the trim. Cant wait to get out again now.

Ive been eyeing up the GAUI Mini Zoom 3 Blade from buzzflyer !! lots of cash but it looks a great bit of kit for wet weather flying inside

Putting it on the deck for a re-trim is a good plan - these little things can get away from yo quite quickly and you ought to keep boths hands on the stick.

Anyway, good effort on the flying. I too am learning on a Mini Pred and reckon they can be pretty good little CP Helis for the money.
