Well, after a few great flights this morning in great (but cold) weather, I dinged my car door mirror into a gate whilst reversing.... replacement cost £437 fitted...

That's almost a T-rex 500 ... oh well, its only money I suppose...

On the upside, I managed about 15 seconds of nose-in and a few double piros, so it wasn't a totally c**p day!!!!

Is your colour popular? I'd get down the breakers and fit it myself...don't worry about the wiring for electric and/or heated mirrors, it's just a plug

I bet he would give you a buy it now of £437. He he, i bet he will get 1 bid at the most, and if you can build a helicopter i bet you could fix your mirror.... Even if you did try it's only £30, and you might even get away with that huge bill of £437

Sounds about right.

We hired a car (2008 Vectra) for a holiday this year. On the first day I cracked a wing mirror. £400 :-(

On the way home, we stopped off at my partner's in London. They neglected to tell us we needed a ticket to park in their resident's parking. Result: towed. Cost: £200. Of course, they don't tell you they've towed it (even the towing company can't accurately), so we spent half the day talking to the police & hire company, believing it to be nicked.

Finally, just before I took it back, some bastard keyed it. Cost: £600 for a respray.

I don't go on holiday any more. It's too stressful.

dandeman - had a look on ebay but they're all for the older model or they're not heated, electric, foldable etc etc...

Steve - I'll take a picture of it when its light and you'll see this needs more than glue!!!

Mart61 - I don't have a lady's compact and would rather pay the £437 than risk nicking the wife's!!

Long and short of it is that it should be sorted today and I'm thinking of changing it anyway so I'll have the opportunity to go to the Volvo dealer!!!

The other thing I didn't mention is that when taking the loose bits off, I cut my thumb and my first thought was - I hope it doesn't stop me flying helis - thankfully, its OK and I can fly as well as I ever could (read into that what you like )
