  • Wrapping up warm !!

Well I said I was mad .. its minus 1 here and just getting my stuff together for a day at the field ... Got my thermals on and hand warmers and gloves at the ready .. Just got the kettle on for a flask of the warm stuff and its away I go to the field .. Pity my knight is not finished ... Just got the seesaw to install when it gets here and set the linkages up and its good to go tho .. Should be ready for Sunday flight .... So who else is braving the wintery conditions and going flying or staying in with a nice warm cuppa and some time on the sim ?? .... Come on you fair weather fliers get ya butts out of bed and get some flying in .....

Hope you all had a good xmass & wishing you a better 2009.

We went yesterday & it was 2 degrees when we got there & minus one by the time we came home.
I used to be an all weather biker, commuting mainly so have a nice set of weiss cold weather gear (quilted jacket & salopets) which I wear when it's as cold as this.
I wouldnt recomend it tho as my hands & feet were like blocks of ice & my cheeks & nose felt like they were in a deep freezer by the time we left.
I also found I couldnt concentrate too easily on what i was doing & the light conditions were dire to say the least.
It was however nice to see everyone before the new year so even tho the flying was pants socialy it was a success.
Heres to the warmer weather in the new year.

Great news on Josh's Heli Graham we all felt a bit sad when that got crashed but he didnt seem to upset about it.
Your too kind with your comments on my flying m8
I was a touch reserved yesterday with the flying.
I dont know if you noticed but it never once got to inverted & only doing small figure 8's infront of myself with not a proper circuit in there at all & no nose in flying. It was however a successful day what with it being so cold & I only had the phone call saying it was on at 11.30am & was there by 12.30pm.
I was amased how much power I had lost from the lipos in those temperatures.
