carbon tail booms

hello all ,
i was wondering , is it worth upgrading to a carbon tail boom , they are the same price as the metal ones , should i go for it or not?

i found they are $4.50 from tjd models . they come in packs of 2 and there is only a £2.99 shipping fee. is it worth it cos they are half the price

i'd say yes matey, on smaller heli's like the 450 it is, i have one on my dragonus and its been in at least 3 times and the carbon boom has survived every time

Yea go for it fella, it'll make her look dead cool, you've got the bug so enjoy yourself, but make sure you've got a healthy spares back up too Bro, shafts, blades etc.

Then you can blame ole Pop's for giving you the Heli itch & let your mum give him the flack.

I used to bend lots of Trex 450 tail booms, since fitting a CF one, it has never broken.

Beware though, because as soon as you beef up one part, then something else is more likely to break (frame perhaps?). That said I have had several incidents and nothing else has broken and I still have plastic frames, a la the original Trex 450x version!

When I had my 450, every crash the ali boom would bend I got a carbon and it laster AGES, but then I suddenly went through I think it was 3 carbon booms in 3 crashes, so it really does depend how lucky you are in a crash, I have to say the belt got shredded each time an ali boom went but not every time the carbon one went in.
