right, this has been building up for a long time with me and i can't keep it in any more.

I'M SICK TO THE BACK TEETH OF PHOENIX.

can't join bugger all, can't host bugger all, can't crack, models still floaty, more beta updates than windows vista has had.

tonight i had my first experience of the model editor 2 and surprise surprise it doesn't work well. try to export something to an external editor, just sits there, click export, sits there...EXPORT (mouse clicking getting harder now).....sits there

ok, lets have a gander at the old instructions before really smashing the place up. ok, manual....doesn't mention anything about bloody exporting damn all.

it may well be something i'm doing wrong with this editor but it was working with the v1 i had on here. now it sits there with 2 fingers up. who knows as the instructions suck ass. re-installed it and same results.

phoenix, if you don't shape up i'm shipping out. i would rather not have these bloody add ons than the carrot dangled infront of me and me having to have a play with them. please either fix them, give us decent instructions or remove them.

    cheers

    not surprising.

Phoenix implementation of everything is very ropy at best.

the multiplayer is appalling. So bad in fact i dont bother anymore. Port forwarding doesnt work, and why should we spend days upon days trying different scenarios to make it work.

The implementation quality tends to show that whoever did it doesnt know a thing about networking

I'm with you guys..It's just not improving with the updates...not that theres been any for a while now.

The Enviroments and Models water effects are luverly..but it just flys Pants, that horrid floaty feel is killing me, cant connect, and gravity doesn't suck.

I have my Dx7 sitting under my desk (Phoenix) + a the crappy G4 TX.

I have Icons on my desktop one Phoenix the other G4.5 now which would you choose..

Now, Im not sure at all lol

G4.5 Multiplayer Actually works, i join online sessions without problem (some you cannot join but thats cos of the host)

But im wanting to use phoenix online aswell, and if there is that much of a problem with it, should i bother?

In that case guys why dont you all go back to version 1 when IMO the flight physics were better and multiplayer didnt lag or have the connection problems that alot are experiencing now? I felt the same as you lot the other night and had a rant about it also. Ive since went through my router settings thoroughly and after re-opening the port forwarding i am starting to get into sessions. Been in Machasm sessions a few times now and i could never ever get in before. As far as realflight is concerned i just think its physics are a million miles away even compared to the new changes that phoenix made. The sound on it is terrible and graphically its not as good as it should be. Im really hoping phoenix can come up with something because alot of people are starting to bite a bit now. I think they will its just a matter of time.

          Cheers

I too am getting sick of Phoenix, I'm still running 105j which is absolutely perfect all levels on full. Yet download the newer 2.00n and I have to turn the levels right down, can't believe this, I'm running my lappy on a T9300 and 4gb.
I can rarley connect to a session, it let me in a couple of weeks ago but kicked me off after 5mins of jerky flight
I appreciate that a beta needs testing but please send one out that actually flies ok

Lets not getted worried here though 105j seems to work perfectly as a simulator and can handle a high amount of movement. And sorry, but it is the best flight simulator out there so I urge you to buy it and is excellent value for the price

Exactly what I was saying the other night, mine's days are numbered. I think I'd learn more with an indoor micro than the sim. So mine's up for grabs.

I have not used Phoenix for months but have dug it out tonight to try and spend a bit of time on it.

I never liked or saw the point of an online option so i am using 1.04i and its nice and reliable.

I hate the updates and wont be using them.

Iv'e had RF G3/3.5 and dumped it for Phoenix. Phoenix the current physics that are not right..possibly just an update away..

G4.5 with a little tweeking (tails gyro settings) and a wander through the Swap pages and there are one or two gems..the Trex600 V3 flys very nice indeed. The models are not quite so pretty but the rest is on par or better IMHO + the weather settings work very well. (water effects excepted)

Online at the mo G4.5 is iffy but currently its undergoing beta testing on an update..but certainly no worse than Phoenix. At least G3.5 had good online so I think it will be just the update away.

To get rid of the Phoenix Floaty feel in part at least reduce the dia of the main rotors helps no end

I cant remember off hand which update I last installed, but I have loads of past updates stored on a flash pen, I'll have to check, but I know the previous update to the one I use now buggered up the frame rate, then they brought out another update and everything was toasty.

Multi player groups for me is pointless as the singular mode is far more smooth and realistic, I practice on the 450 & 500, and occasional bit of fun with the fixed wing birds.

My Phoenix is well behind with the updates to date but works perfectly, and is still a major part of my flying practice.

It's not broken so I'm not going to try and fix it, Phoenix does what I need, and I have zero interest in designing canopy's etc, online groups, and for my needs the graphics are all set at there highest the only thing my Lappy & Desk top doesn't like is the water effects turned on, for some reason when switched on it buggers up the graphics completely.

But do I sound like a man who's bothered about water effects.

I'm sure the guys at phoenix are just as disheartened to read this as are the users who like to use the most up to date updates, give phoenix credit allegedly for now things aren't good with many problems emerging, but unlike Virus suites who offer 12 months updates then you have to pay for further updates Phoenix sells you there package with a lifetime of updates and no further cost to be payed out.

I haven't any shares in there company, & know bugger all who work there, but when I had trouble sometime back they bent over backward to fix my problem by bringing out a new version update three days after the last one just to fix my problem, which happened to help many others as well fortunately.

Maybe there trying to hard to please to many people all at the same time, then again I've never known a company who look after there customers like they do as best as they can.

With company's going under by the day who knows what internal problems they may be having to deal with, but I know one thing for sure, regardless of a issues now, we'd bloody well miss them if the worst happened and we lost them for good.

Please I know many are wound up with probs's right now, but lets give them some breathing space as I'm sure what ever problems people are facing using there Phoenix Sims right now are the tip of the iceberg why there happening and not being resolved as quickly as usual

This is just my pennies worth looking at the broader picture, so please don't have a go at me chaps, things are pretty crap everywhere Right now tempers are stretched, and I'm sure the Phoenix guys are pulling there hair out trying to fix these bugs, never mind keeping there business afloat in such a dangerous economical climate.

Thank you for your time reading my thoughts & opinions, there completely personal, I'm just grateful I can keep my birds in the air while others are losing everything they own, house and all.

I took the plunge a few days before Christmas as I had lost my XTR dongle (which typically has re-appeared) and fancied seeing what I was missing. I am fully up to date at 2.00.q and apart from a couple of times when the app crashed (under XP Pro) I am enjoying what is a marked improvement over XTR. Tried the multiplayer option earlier today and connected without issue until the host kicked me off due to a laggy connection which then caused the app to crash again.

Still I am pleased with it overall, at thats the most important thing

My 3 year old son also loves 'flying' the trainer plank - he even landed it yesterday - probably a fluke but made me laugh today he discovered the aircraft fragment on crashing...

Running mine windowed at 1024x768@75Hz with everything at full without issue on quite an old machine (Athlon X2 4200 with 256Mb GeForce 6600), also tried full screen (1280x1024) with all on and no issues with frame rate either

I have to say .. That's it's not as good now as it was say, a year ago.. yep sure it's nice to have the new models and locations.. but It does'nt feel real anymore.. more like an arcade game than a sim now...

Well I agree with everything that's been said but!!!!!!!!!!

My last email from Phoenix stated they were working very hard and "A FIX" would be in the next update.

We will see but as others have said they are really flushing their product down the toilet if these problems still occur early next year.
