  • Outrage XP Packs are Pants!

I've been flying a couple of outrage XP25 800mah packs on my T250 for a couple of weeks now and I've come to the conclusion after a number of flights and bench tests that theyre utter sh**e. The headspeed is noticably lower in flight against the align packs and they completely lack any sort of punch. I personally think its an OUTRAGE!! Specially since the site I purchaced them from specifically says theyre much more powerfull than align packs, ITS JUST NOT TRUE. Needless to say I'll be calling them immediately after the festivities to express my concerns and attempt to get a refund.

    ps. Merry christmas everyone!!

Thats worrying,i am planning to get a new pack or two for my 500 in the near future and alongside the Aurorra ones and Maxpoly, these were a serious consideration after hearing several good reports on them.

I am pretty sure if they are faulty they would be replaced as they carry a good warranty.

I would be interested to hear the outcome.

does your charger tell you anything about them such as if the cells balance and what the internal resistance is?

I'm balance charging them on a Bantam estation and they seem to balance up ok, I dont think it has the capability to do internal resistance. The bench tests I ran were just monitoring voltage, ampage and headspeed.

until someone can prove to me that are better packs than revo's I will be sticking with them. I have tried tornado packs on my 250 which seem ok so far having said this.

I know that there are new revos that will soon be released. These are promissed to be even better

Chris, if your going to continue on with the 5s option IMO the only way to go is the 4200 revo packs. I'm saying cause mine just don't miss a beat
            Cheers Matt

been running 5s revo's since they came out, 16T I noticed the other day one packs done over 50 cycles now and its still going strong(as it should).

I also rate the Maxpoly, ok not so much for 3D but for sport flying their ideal the ones I had I sold to a friend of mine and they too are still going strong.

just to add I was told my align motor would have packed up by now but its got over 300 flights on it and it still seams to be running fine
              All the best

imo, for what it is worth. there are only 2 types of lipos. there are revos and there are the others. people do not rave about them for no reason. if you do go the 5s route with the 500 then the 4200 5s revo is the ONLY choice for me.

                cheers

all the outrage packs i have used have been excellent. the 550 with the mental motor and 6s 5000mah is just plain mental and the 1300s produce great power too.

i dont have a trex 250 or flown one so cant compare the exact batteries in question but i would be amazed from my experience of other align batteries if they are actually any good.

im not a big fan of the bantum chargers, their balance capabilities are not that hot.

you need to get both the batteries on a cellpro 10s and see what the cell impedances are.

also its worth checking your soldering on the connectors of the batteries. even a slight imperfection in the solder joint can make a big difference to the power output.

New ones for the 250? I'd be up for giving them a try.

I'm looking at kong powers too.

Yeah I'm pretty amazed too, my experience with align packs has been quite negative to press too but they way out perform these outrages in all aspects including price.

In the past using decent quality packs balancing and charging with cheap equipment has had no noticable effect on performance. For both of these packs to give poor performance strikes me as more than a coincidence. To be honest the only analysis I really need is to fly them and these packs fly bad.

Ahem, I know how to solder mate.

If memory serves me right, dont you have some sort of affiliation with outrage?

good, sorry I had to check :-)

Yes im sponsored by outrage, which is one of the reasons why im helping.

i think the best bet is to send them to me or blink, If you send them to me i will test them on the cellpro, then pass the info onto blink.

I'll be interested in that as I've yet to get my CellPro to charge 1S let alone give an impedance readout

Need a lead that feeds the balancer and the front main connector as well I guess?
