Not sure if anyone here will be able to help but I have a JR3810 ADT and a PCM10X. I have also got a DataXchange.

I've saved the models in the 3810 and converted to PCM10X in the software, however when I try to transfer the models to the 10X I get a receive error. I have followed the process in the 10x manual, with it been switched off and in the receive mode but I still get the same error.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,

    Hi James,

Well I wrote the DataXchange software so hopefully I can help

1st question.. does your PCM10x have 140ccpm as an option and ZPCM as an option?

The reason I ask is that the PCM10x originally came out in one format.. but was very quickly (matter of a couple months) updated to the USA spec that has been on sale for the past however many years. Most of the early sets were updated by MacGregors to the new software.. however there are still a few out in the wilderness that were V1's... if yours is a V1 then that's going to be a problem!

If yours does have the 140ccpm and ZPCM then it's not that.. Have you tried downloading from the PCM10x to the DataXchange and then back again without converting from an X3810 to see if that is ok?

    Cheers

        Hi James,

Well.. first things first then.. please try downloading to the PC and back up to the 10x without converting any X3810 stuff so we can try to narrow the problem down.

I presume you are running the latest 1.8 software?

        Cheers

          Hi Mark,

          Yes it's V1.8.

I have managed to download a model from the 10x but if I try to send it back into an empty model memory I get a receive error on the 10x.

          Cheers,

            Hi James,

Ok that narrows it down to the lead and not the software or transmitter.

Are you running it through the USB adaptor?.. if yes.. can you plug direct into a Serial port?.. have you tried it on a different computer?

Just trying to figure out whether it is the USB lead or the DataXchange dongle that is the culprit..

            Cheers

              Hi Mark,

Cheers for your help with this but I think it's now working. I replaced the USB/RS232 converter and have managed to send models to both the 3018 and 10x.
