I have bought a mode 2 spectrum transmitter of the forum, i fly planes mode 1 and i think it would be better to also fly helis on mode 1 as im used to it, but is it possible to change it? If so how?

It's not possible to change the mode of a DX6i without major surgery. Horizon Hobby UK may be able to do it but no idea of cost.
I learnt to fly planes mode 1 20 odd years ago then started flying heli's on mode 2 5 years later. I had no problem flying each with different modes for many years and finally swapped fixed wing over to mode 2 about 2 years ago. I have always flown helis with finger & thumb pinch, fixed wing was thumbs on top which seemed to stop me confusing the two.
Helis are easier and better to fly mode 2 IMHO, although I know there are many successful mode 1 flyers.

Trex 600N, Trex 700N, now 3G!, Raptor E550 now in fetching Hughes 500E, Trex 250, Trex 500CF, Trex 550E 3G, Beam E4, Outrage 550, Logo 500 3D.
When I started to learn to fly I did mode 1 for planks, and mode 2 for helis, when I came back to the hobby I went mode 2 all the way.
just took a little practice but it aint that bad to relearn mode 2 on planks. but I would think learning some of the manouvers on a heli in mode 1 a real brain scrambler
