Glow Plugs

Just been looking on a couple websites as i thought id start stocking up on glow plugs as im getting very low. Not that theres gonna be much flying i think but i would like to have them stocked up anyways. Now i normally dont bother with anyting other than OS No.8s to be honest. Ive always used them and never had any problems in my 50 hypers so continued to do so. Now as i was looking about i noticed Align have a No.4 and 5 plug. Has anyone used them? What are they like? Are they compareable to the equivalent OS or even Enya plug? Noticed the price is not too far off half of the OS No8's. Just wondering if its worth trying them or whether to stick with the OS? At these times its hard to resist something thats cheaper. If anyone is using something that is diffrent from the ones mentioned then please share (Brand/price/comparison).

I bought them with an expectation from other forums that they were a straight copy of the OS8. Unfortunately they aren't the same at all and I've not had much success with them and have gone back to OS8's. Others may have a different story but I'm finding an OS8 lasts over twice as long as the Align plugs.

hi i use the plugs from 308 hobbies there in london and there do mail order i just made a head for my os hyper that take cone plugs this plug seals on a taper its a better sealing method but plugs are about 5.50 but there very good

I have also tried the Align Glow plugs in my Hypers and found them to be very poor indeed,some didnt even work from new.I brought a card of 12 for a good price from the LHS but would avoid them in future.

I am sure there are some good ones out there though but i just stick to either OS8 or Enya 3 as they are always reliable.

I've always used Enya 3's.

Found OS 8's made my idle a bit lumpy.

No problems really with either.

Well looks like ill stick with what i know then lol. Just wondered what they were like thats all. Bloody pricey buying a card of OS 8'S though. More bloody £££££ lol.

I tried an align plug and the motor wouldn't start at all.

I have used enya 3 and os 8 and seen no difference other then the remote glow stays on the enya better due to the shape of the pin.

Fastlads is out of stock of Enya No:3 and according to Jamie won't be re-stocking for a while due to absurd price increases.

I bought a card of 10 from Midland Helicopters this week but they were expensive.

Made2Fade get a card off ebay, i do every year and i know most people say dont trust ebay but there all sealed os glow plugs and iv never had a problem with them at all
