Went to my local indoor club on Saturday with the beam e4 and radio (dx6i for someone to set (fine tune) it before I’m let lose on it.

Now rob came over Friday and got it hovering in my garage (and then he tamed it down)

Anyway got to my local club for fine-tuning at first they said “nice build” and one nice gent (Dan I think was his name) agreed to fly it and tune it.

We got to the flying area when he said, “you’ve got a faulty radio your throttle is not moving all the way up on your throttle curve “now he looked in to menu, sum trims, and god knows what. Well so did two no three other people and I also gave them my manual and they all came to the same conclusion that my radio was faulty.

I refuse to believe this because one it worked ok on Friday and sat in the warm dinning room until it was time to go to the indoor meeting

I would certainly get a second opinion from a different source at a different venue.

Sounds like its a coincedence this happening at your first visit.

Without inspecting it myself its hard to decide what the problem may be.

without the heli "live" switch your radio on and click the scroll wheel once and spool round to menu 6 (thro cur) click the wheel. now scroll the wheel till norm is highlighted. now move the stick and you should see a faint black line move across the graph. make sure it goes right across. next look at the curve rob has set( the static diagonal black line) if it doesn't go right to the top of the graph then thats probably why your not getting full throttle and will be set like that intentionaly by rob to keep it tame ( at a guess maybe upto 85% )

if you mean the moving line . you may well have a problem. first just check in your travel adjust menu( 3) make sure throttle says 100%

Fixed it the problem was that the trim (not the sub trim) was all the way down so at full throttle it was only 75%

I was a having a fiddle with my DX6i as you posted. My trim is down at minimum, but the throttle line in the curves menu still goes to 100%...
I guess this means that at 100% stick the speed controller isn't actually flat out...

I thought the trim had to be at minimum in order for the speed controller to initialise...

So should the throttle trim be set to minimum? I guess we're using the Blade ESC with our DX6i. James isn't so maybe his speed controller needs a different setting?

Is it possible that rob set the esc first and then moved the trim this may explain the 75% ??

tbh i dont know james! its possible that if he bound the rx with the trim centered then that is what the esc sees as low throttle. ive always bound my electrics with low trim also,, you may be best dropping him a pm.better safe than sorry
