Competition help please

Hi All,
I've just come back from our club's AGM and I now find myself to be the 'Competition Organiser' for 2009. Not really done anything like this before and I would really like to hear from you guys as to what you would think would make a good fun day at the field. Any pointers of what to organise with regard to heli comp types and rules etc. would be appreciated.

The ones I can think of are...
Timed hover;
Spot auto;
knocking over skittles (timed) and picking up blocks (also timed).

What do you guys do at your club's own fun flys / BBQs / fun comps?

Pylon racing Lee, I know people had a great time entering that at two events this last year with their 450 size helis.

Of course! How could I have missed that. That was a highlight of a funfly earlier this year (and a bit of a low time for many a 450 heli )

It took a while (couldn't be arsed) but I got it repaired and flying again eventually.

How about drag racing. A timed run over say 3 pegs or markers on the floor from a standing hover.

On spot autos, measure closest to spot that on the ground first with the nose then back of landing gear and then tail fin,

We do this at our club and its great fun, gets everyone together and helps people gain confidence flying in front of people

wite down a distance (random) and put it in a sealed envelope. mark out an area with a centre point, have an auto landing for those who can do them, and an ordinary landing for those who are not that confident, and the closest to the written figure wins, that way anybody has a chance to win something.(one of the richies naked girls would be good)

Thanks for the help so far guys - a load of great ideas there. I love the ideas of plyon or drag racing but clearing up the resulting carnage, that's another matter
