  • Lunch on the fly....

Literally, my mate said to me Friday 'shall we bring our helis to work Monday?'

    So I said okay.

Brought mine in but he reckons he thought I wouldn't bother. Anyway met him as planned with 2 lipos in my case and put her up. While flying the wind got up a lot, we reckon 12+ gusting higher. My girl wasn't exactly steady as a rock but boy she handled that wind real well, with and w/out idle up.

Two lipos later and a big grin on my mush from having a bit more space to fly in. Didn't try any fancy stuff though, with that wind and unfamiliar surroundings I figured play safe, and play well.

Plus I didn't want to risk hitting anyone's cars.

    Nice one John

I flew at my instructors field on Saturday and the extra space gives you loads of confidence... went out to a local field yesterday and realised it was a bit too much confidence!!! - all repaired in a couple of hours though!!!

Just started using idle up with throttle curve fixed at 85% across the whole stick range... is this how yours is setup?

No mate, my curve is 100-95-90-95-100. I may just take it up a bit on that when I have the space again.

It's a bit hard for me having to get the bus.... I'd love to otherwise, I may just start taking my little Buzzy to work each day.

My m8 brought his today, but he won't risk the winds I will so don't think he'll by flying it. see where as I see a 12+ wind as a challenge he just don't enjoy it. Unless he flies inside the w/house of course, dunno 'bout you guys but an open space with a stiff breeze against a warehouse full of shelving I'll take the open space anyday...

What do you think of the CP Gold - have ordered one for my lad for Christmas (along with Phoenix!)?

If it's as well put together as the CPV2.1 then it won't be a bad little heli mate. I know they're cheap and cheerful and small (ish) but good fun.

                    Thanks John

Had a look at one at our indoor club last week. Looks good, and a less intimidating start than the B400 - Josh is only 13...

Have ordered some spares too if his first flights are anything like his Dad's!!!

                    All the best
