Hmmm. My father has one of these in his garage, and i remember him telling me it was originally inspired by a bike called the Empire Star, and it earnt its name of Gold Star for a particular reason... Anyone know why?

If that bikes in good condition it will be worth a fortune believe me.

Yep. Its sits in the garage with the other 7 bikes he has got! I am hopeing one day ill get the chance to give an old british bike a ride. The Triumph 21 Twin with bathtub rear guards is my favorite one!

Still no guesses on why it was called the "Gold Star"?

Now that I know what a Gold star is. I have a mate that has I think he said it was a 67 Triumph. Something about the frame held the oil and had issues. He"s had it for years. Trying to find time to restore it.

Can't have been a Triumph then - all the oil would invariably end up on the floor

                              Seriously gorgeous bike though

You know the Triumph better than me. I dont see this fella much during the winter, he's on my golf league. I just know its from the 60's. I kinda remember him saying something about the oil in the frame. Maybe a Norton? Dewey
