  • Dragon fly 6ch models...

    Hi
does anyone know if these 6 channel helis are any good?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-3D-C...QQcmdZViewItem

look okay and good for the money I was going to go T-Rex but
this looks the same model almost at least the same size!

I will be needing an indoor heli very very soon.

There's been a lot of discussion on these helicopters and opinion is very varied, some wouldn't touch them with a bargepole whereas others swear by them.

I think most people would agree on the following:
    • The supplied electronics are very variable in quality and you're lucky to get a full set that work out of the box. Chattering servos, dodgy gyro, RX cut-outs and overheating ESC (brushed ESC is built into the RX)
    • They are put together by drunk Chinese monkeys so need a lot of setup out of the box to get it into a flyable state.
    • If you get one with a Li-po battery do not use the supplied charger whether it says it's suitable or not. Get a proper charger.
    • Brushless is the way to go, either the Walkera one or Align.
    • They're cheap so if you don't mind playing around with it, and fixing/replacing the things which will inevitably break they're good value.
All this said, I've had a good experience with mine so far. I got a #36 with Li-po and brushless motor. I ditched the charger and bought a Pro-peak Quattro. The other electronics have been fine up until now. I was lucky enough to get mine at an excellent price (60% of list) so I think I've had good value.

I have read alot of people saying how bad the walkera electronics are. I think a trex and you specify your electronics yourself would be a much better choice
