'Jim, as far as I know it's simply the mixing unit at that price. You'd need to purchase sensors on top of that and if my mind serves me correctly the FMA one is compatible.

Hopefully, Paul or Angelos will come along and set me straight though...

Hi Andy Im not sure myself what will also be needed very little info on it but if the price starts going up then I may be in favour of the Helicommand.

jim, i've had a word with angelos and all you require is the ap2000, a sensor cable and an FMA sensor.

the sensor i think mike at www.aurorra.co.uk can fix you up with, andy at realraptors has the ap2000 and the spartan cable to suit. the sensor is $42 in USA and the sensor cable is about 5 quid i think but mike can maybe give you the UK price if you call him.

          hope that helps.

          cheers

Would you know if the FMA sensor be needed if I used the Helicommand as I new to trying to understand this type of setup, once I've made up me mind I'll be fitting it to the Trex 500.

A Helicommand is a complete working devise Jim with no added extras to buy.

I had one in my early days and can recommend them thoroughly.

Seek help and advise when fitting to your heli if you arnt clued up mate.

This was mine when fitted to a Raptor 50.

as above the helicommand is complete but the spartan setup will work out a good bit cheaper if your bothered about that.

i have never flown either system but i assume they do what they say on the tin. there are videos of the spartan unit on the spartan website fyi.

                cheers

                  Paul.

The thing is with Helicommand they have had no competition in this market so can basically charge what they want for the unit.

As quoted they work 100% spot on and as stated I can recommend them.

Now if Spartan can sort out a devise anywhere near as good as their gyro for less money than the Helicommand then they have a definate winner on their hands.

thing is mate, they DO have a device much cheaper. the sensor is about 25-30 quid from USA or mike at aurorra will have them i would think. a sensor cable is £5 and the AP2000 is £120. so potentially there is £100 saving there.

i think the reason it uses the FMA sensor was at the time the FMA unit couldn't do CCPM so people wanted to convert, this allowed them to do so relatively cheaply.

                    cheers

Cheers Lads I've been tempted for along time now to get into 3d stuff but bottle each time I attemt, I can do all the stuff like 8's nose-in loops & rolls.
Me Lady has ordered me the T500 Super Combo for Xmas this is the reason I think Im going to need Spartan or Helicommand to help with 3d stuff so my question is:
                      Do I need one.
                      Which is easiest to program.
                      Which is best.
Price, if need be I can wait a bit longer to save up the differents.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Paul, see if angelos will send you one up and you can stick it on my 600 for testing purposes...

Yes, you need the IR sensor from FMA. Also, there is a cable required to connect the two. It's a Spartan designed cable. The FMA cable will not connect.
I've used the system since it was released with good success. Always ends upright when activated.
