  • Twister Skylift?

Can anyone give me a review on the Twister Skylift V2

    * What's the flying time like?
    * Can you swap in a second LiPo after a flt w/o overheating?
    * I like the Coastguard and Chinook look. Any other options?

    Thanks, Ted

'Fraid I've only got the V1 which frankly is now sitting on a shelf as a museum piece. The thing was a nightmare mate. I know a few people who've had a lot more luck though. It only gets about 5 minutes flying with the lipo they supply, so not long. But I'd not put a second in too quickly as the motors are exactly the same ones used in the 7.4V models so must be running close to flat out. I always had grief with the 3in1's burning out, and now I see they've upgraded the wiring loom to run cooler.

It's a lovely looking model, and won't need the space the Twister CP needs although the same size overall but do be aware that 4 sets of rotors make a heckuva lot of wind.

My advice would be to better go for the Blade mcx or CX2, I can't say much for the MCX I'm going to get one but don't have it yet, but the CX2 has seen me through a lot of fun times and led to me buying the Blade 400. And that is one purchase I've never regretted.

Sorry for ranting on here, but do you have a simulator? If not you are likely to find any 4 channel heli a little hard, that extra channel is a shock to the system at first, but great fun when you master it.
But the skylift for all they say is not a newbie heli, you need some experience on 4 channel first. Good luck whatever you do, and we're all here to help.

Oh, and if you like the coastguard look , check out the alternative bods for the CX2, they do a coastguard body now as well.
