I think Ive jumped in again with both feet.

After I was told my Gyro wasnt very good and could be playing up I decided to buy another, looking on eBay I came up with the GY601 with the S9251 servo and yes I bought it.

After reading this in the instructions
Always use the GY601 with a PCM proportional system.
Using the GY601 with an FM proportional system, when noise enters, the
wrong neutral position may be memorized.

I realise now I need to make some changes to my electrics.

        My setup

Hitec Eclipse 7 QPMC Radio, FM/HFD 08RD Receiver with HS-425BB servos

The new Gyro is a Futaba GY601 with S9251 Servo

Im not sure what PCM means but I think I need to change the Receiver and Servos for PCM instead of FM, am I right.

        What do I need ?

I have used 601s with multiplex and schulze recievers whilst these arent PCM they are "Filtered" PPM

PCM is basically a digital transmission method rather than analogue that normal FM, PPM is.

sure you dont mean your rx is QPCM? That is hitecs version of PCM.

check out www.jkheli.com for 601 setup method.

Yep my rx is QPCM but the 601's instructions say PCM.

            Looks like I need this
            HPD07RH : Hitec 7ch D/C QPCM Receiver 35mhz

Do I need to change all the servos if I buy this receiver?

qpcm is hitecs version of PCM, just like JR has SPCM and ZPCM, futaba has PCM1024 and PCM2048

The signal from the rx to the servos is the same no matter what radio you use. its only the link from the rx to tx that changes. This means you can use different brand servos with different makes of transmitter/reciever.

                Thanks Ade

I've bought Hitec's QPCM Receiver but I'm stil haveing problems, the servo that came with it (S9251) works but it makes a siserling sounda ll the time.
Te radio is set on QPCM.

thats what digital servos do. You should hear my knight, thats got a full set of digitals and its deafening indoors. Heres why

                  http://www.futabarc.com/servos/digitalservos.pdf

a lot of people complain about the power consumption. But the servo isnt just burning it up in heat its using that extra power to put the arm exactly where you want it when you want it a worthwhile downside if you ask me.
