Window licking is quite good, not for those frosty mornings tho, unless you're really desperate then you'll have to go to a mall with an indoor glass lift and lick away to your hearts content.

While I hope this sentence is meant in a joking manner and not aimed at speical needs people .. Where I live some of the more mentally retard youth of today (chav scumbags in my eyes) call special needs people/children window lickers ... Now while this statement might be innocent ( which I hope it is ) I feel I must say something being as my youngest child is special needs ....
So it all might be innocent and in the name of a winter hobby but please be aware of other peoples feelings regarding the said statement....This is not a rant just an abservation ..
Well put mike, im sure it wasnt meant in that manner, as my bro is also disabled but ive heard enough quips by dickheads now i just ignore them to a point, but as you know its still not nice/wanted. Im damnded sure my bro would rather be able bodied than stuck in a chair, double incontinent, and dependant on others for the rest of his life
I started this thread with light hearted intentions to break the boredom of not being able to fly and after looking at all the suggestions for a “winter hobby” have decided to take up the serious sport of
“Marmite tasting” which involves obviously, the art of tasting, dating month of conception, and best application,
all of which you can gain points to achieve a certified and recognition award which can enter you into the world championships held in my back garden (weather permitting) on the 25/12/08.
As this is a fairly new sport, we do not have a grand master, this title is up for grabs so bear this in mind if you would like to enter,
The champion Marmite taster/applicator prize will be a years supply of Marmite vouchers, (yet to be recognised by any supplier)
Please enter your name and relevant experience below for a championship entry/application form.
Mike W and Steelie 600,
Please accept my most sincere apologies ... Nothing was further from my mind, no offence or humiliation of any form was intended.
I am a medically retired Prison Officer, so I am more than aware of the spektrum of abilities and disabilities people have to live with.

No worries m8e .... I was tired when I typed it so if it seemed a little off I do apologise ... And lets get the light heartedness back in this thread
Now marmite tasting competition sounds nice , but what about the heathens that dont want to try it ....
As for taking up knitting I can just imagine some of the 3D helis pilots and what they come with when they knit one darn one hehe ....
And as for Marmite !
Toast bread one side, turn over, apply a liberal amount of MARMITE ! To taste of course, then a layer of cheese, back under the grill for a few mins ... Wonderfull !!

Dave dunna worry dude i know it wasnt intended that way, Unfortunatey some ofthe dim of mind may have interpreted it that way but i knew the context it should have been taken in mate. No need to apologise dude i was just expressing that certain individuals take the **** when i know first hand the people on the receiving end would rather be "normal" and not have to deal with their disabilties
If I may, could I just add a little input regarding the misunderstanding above.
I make no secret I'm screwed in the spine dept, a certain medication is stabilizing me for the moment but it's only a matter of time as with many times in the past that my system becomes accustomed to it, and I'm in deep shit again on the Class A's.
When writing text it's a very one dimensional medium, with very little emotion if any is mostly never carried through with the general comment made.
A personal understanding on a private level needs to be achieved between members if not a potential flair up may ensue.
I'm pleased a gentle understanding has been forged between said party's, and any misunderstood wording has been clarified.
I know the foundations of kindness this forum is based on, and that's down to the superb bunch of nutters that frequent here, lol.
My family & close friends know I hate sympathy and a "make light" strategy is one I most prefer, IE, "Whats up with you today you pain in the arse ugly hypochondriac git."
Another response I'd take great offense, but care must always be paramount when people don't know one another on a one to one personal bases.
Just for the record I enjoy a good ribbing about my physical "situation" as I have discovered during my time here is the wonderful undercurrent of kindness that makes this forum the best one out there.
Tripler, may I suggest a good warm coat and woolly hat and keep your birds active during the cold months, as I don't know about anyone else but for buzz rides, there isn't a close second to flying our Helicopters.
Just thought i'd let you know I have personal experience of back probs and the hassel that goes with it,,
I've just been of work for three months and have to have two injections tomorrow in the lower back pending an opp, ahh
anyway I understand your last comments and totaly agree with you this is a very hard medium to communicate through and things can be misunderstood.
This is a brilliant forum and I'm sure it will remain so if slight misunderstandings are resolved in the way they have been in this thread,
