North East Indoor Flying...

Hi all,
As a newbie I've been waiting to get my new electric heli out and about since Christmas but the weather has been bad (to put it politely). So I've been twiddling my thumbs and going mad! :|

Anyway...this brought to my attention that an indoor flying meet is what's needed for people like me with electric helis. I'm looking into hiring a local sports hall or such like places as I remember my old school hiring out their sports hall to rc people (long time ago now).

Does anyone know of such a place around the North East/Tyne and Wear?

Is there already a meet of this sort happening?

And would anyone come along if I could sort it out?

I realise that insurance is probably an issue if lots of people get together so maybe a local club will be interested?

If not I'm just gonna do it coz I'm sick of the amount I've spent and that I can't use it.

Any input would be appreciated

As Keith says there is a meeting next Saturday -- Do you have any Insurance ??

No I'm sure if it was compulsory I would have been told prior to buying. If it is compulsory I'm gonna go mad :|

Fair enough if you need it for a club though. I was under the impression that when I joined a club I'd get insurance from the BMFA or something.

So is the meet next Saturday for flying? Sound great but I'm in Barcelona next Sat Just my f"&@$*g luck!!! ops:

you require insurance to fly at ANY indoor event! (except your own living room) its the club meeting this monday night come along, join, and get insured. or if you wish you can join the BMFA as an individual by contacting them direct (dunno why you would want to though?) club meeting held at Heworth Golf Club 8pm (ish) this monday, 9th jan. Indoor flying meetings are held 3rd sat of each month at Churchill community college, willington quay, wallsend 6pm ish till 9.30 pm ish. come along monday night and introduce yourself have a natter and a pint.

How much to join? And looking at the site it say no jeans. Not many people own anything other than jeans these days . Can I wear shorts? hahaha. My suit will be a bit over the top ops: . Anyway...small problem If I know the cost though I'll bring it with me

no sorry you cant join on sat. the event isnt run by a club, its run by the area committee. you missed your chance im afraid, unless you can contact our secretary direct and meet up with him to pay the fees. failing that you could join the BMFA only direct by phone, and pray the paperwork turns up on time for sat night?

Says I should sell mine because indoor flying is not good 8O

And get an IC. Wish I had but I've paid a fortune for this.
