Ahh that could make it a bit easier. Thanks for the offer btw DbyMA but I was hoping to find someone a bit more local. Your more than welcome to come over here and give me a few pointers if you fancy flying in a quiet and historic ww2 flying site.

I don't know if you ever got sorted for the heli tests, to contact the achievement scheme co-ordinator for the Northern Area send an email to asc@na-bmfa.org and he will be able to sort you out, btw he is also a heli examiner.

I could do some 'A' tests when I come up if you like. Could also do 'B' tests as well but you would need another examiner. (need two for a 'B' exam)

Your club would have to write to the BMFA to let them know I will be doing it. Kind of an etiquette thing.
          Cheers Matt

Yes please Matt that would be fantastic. I'm after a B so I can compete next year but doing the A first would be good for a bit of exam experience.

What area will you be staying? I'm a bit off the beaten track in Wombleton and being the most active member of the club it would probably be down to me to inform the BMFA. If anyone in the area whos interested in doing it would like to come here we would have the place pretty much to ourselves and not be cutting in to anyones flying time.

                  Folks,

The Northern Area Chief heli examiner flys from the Carlton Flying club, near Snaith. I think a link to their club is on the BMFA web site. We have a gentleman based at our club (Pontefract PANDAS) who is an heli examiner. At the moment he's busy with his 1/8 scale car racing but has indicated he is making more regular visits to the field in the coming months. Don't know his contact details but can try and get hold of them if you wish. Obviously that depends if he is willing to give them out so I can PM individuals...

Having passed my 'A' certificate 12 months ago I am also working towards a 'B' certificate it would be good for someone to demonstrate the B to see what is expected on the test. give an idea of the standard required (some of us may be nearer than we think... or not)

For the Northern flyers we are having a heli flyin in June 2009 could try and get someone to demonstrate a B there a little while off I know but it will soon be here. If there is a Northern flyin earlier try and do something for that meet.

Not quite right, Phil Davis is the Northern area achievement scheme co-ordinator, he is a club examiner for helis and a chief examiner for fixed wing.

Any club examiner can test at any other club by invitation of the club committee, there is no need to let the BMFA know. However if an Area Chief Examiner wishes to operate outside his area he must let the achievement scheme co-ordinator of the area in which he will be operating know, he can still operate as a club examiner though as long as he has been ratified by a club.
If anyone is looking for tests in the Northern area an email to Phil is the best course of action at asc@na-bmfa.org

                    Cheers

Thanks for the clarification (my mistake / misunderstanding) but a step nearer.
