  • Reflex XTR

I'm hoping to buy Reflex in the next couple of days. Does anyone know the newest version? I want to make sure I'm not sold an old version. Also are the simulators worth the money. I'm new to helicopters, have bought a Twister but after smashing the mainblades once I think I need some simulator practice, but on the other hand I dont want to waste my money.

I'm honestly not sure what actually ships on the disk currently. The latest update is version 5.022 I think. All updates are downloadable from their website so it doesn't really matter unless you are on restricted net access...

Yes they are worth the money, saves you shedloads of replacement parts

Blade 130x, Park Zone Mini Sukhoi, EDF F16 thingy, some Gliders and some broken stuff

Cheers Smoothound. Just wasn't sure how realistic they are compared to real flying. Didn't want to get good on the simulator and be no better at the real thing!

I think the simulator is excellent, but you will always fly better on the sim than the real heli as crashing does not cost

I find the exact opposite my flying in the sim is downright dangerous and I crash a lot, in the real world I dont fly the heli like an angry blubottle

Reflex is probably the better sim out there and as smooth has already mentioned the biggest plus point is the FREE updates and upgrades.

It's worth registereing at rc-sim.de for all the lovely models they do for REflex and the other sims 8)

I was going to mention rc-sim.de, certainly some excellent additional models on there espcially if you like to fly fixed wing as well.
