  • Spektrum Tx & RX

I know this is preaching to the wise but I thought I'd share a bit of info I discovered along the way while fixing my 450.

A few may remember me mentioning a while back, when I attach my first battery in a session I have to attach, disconnect then reconnect the batt for the 401 red LED to stay solid, and that my AR6200 always flashed on & off.

Well I went through the Binding process again only I gave it a little more thought and read up on the manuals, and this is so easily solved.

Basically once binded disconnect the batt, turn off the Tranny, then turn on the TX and connect the battery and the RX lights stay solid through out.

So basically after a battery's spent disconnect it, turn off the TX, turn the TX back on and connect a new battery and the RX lights will stay solid forever more.

Plus the Gyro and everything else will boot up first time too.

Anyway I know this is simple stuff, but it had me fooled for a while, so hopefully this little piece of info will help someone.

IME, to get consisent behaviour, you need to power the Rx up before the Tx each time. I know this goes against non-DSM2 practice.

That way the Rx puts out the default values on the channels that were set up at bind time.

This also means that you need to carefully set up these values when you do the bind. You should do this anyway, as these values will be sent to the servos, gyro, etc in the time between Rx power up, and when Tx & Rx connect (a variable time, up to several seconds).

I see your point, but once all set up I'd rather do it my way, I kinda like staying in one piece when flying.

Im sure we discussed this in your last thread Wayne and its exactly what i advised?
Its a well know thing with the Spektrum RX's. Its to do with the TX's saving settings when the power button is turned off. So you have to cycle both TX and RX power to make sure you dont get the flashing lights.
