  • Any good heli shops in the North East? And buying advice :)

    Hi guys...(and girls  )

I've noticed a lot of you are from the Tyne and Wear area which gives me hope that there is a good shop around that I can drive to rather than order online. Revolution models are fantastic and have been lightning quick for me but I'd love to have a local(ish) shop that can help. Most shops on the North side of the Tyne are car based or plane based.

I have searched the site for shop discussions but have found nothing

Any help would be great. I'm off the rest of the week and wanna play

    Need to know this because...
I have a TREX XL SE and want to have some spares while I have the cash. What would you guys recommend?

I'm thinking I'll upgrade from my align hh gyro to a gy401 while I can. Get a set of hitec 56's (should I get the digital servo for the 401? Is it worth it?)

Also spare batteries....as I only have one.

I've yet to fly yet but while I am a lil flush I wanna stock up. Is the gy611 to much for a novice and just plain silly or a good investment?

    HEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!

Yeh been there. Used to live around the corner
        Went twice 2 weeks ago.

1st time must have caught him on a bad day coz he was very rude and unfriendly :|

2nd time a different guy served me and was sound

Still not heli dedicated and a bit slim. Maybe a market for a heli shop??? I think so.

Also I saw a raptor made up and it dwarfed my trex They are huge.

RC Heli shop in the North East

          Hi

I run an online rc helicopter shop in Alnwick, Northumberland. We have a shop front that we hope to open this year some time. We'll be moving in to Raptors for our gasser range but we have quite a large range of electrics and full spares support.

              Trex packages

We only have the helicopters at the moment but we will be moving into spares shortly.

              Thanks

                Why do shops do that?
I remember years ago, when Concepts i think it was first appeared, shops had to hold the back up spares as well as the kits! or they didnt get the kits!
                now that was customer care!!

                  Trex spares

It still is the case if you are coming through a UK distributor. These helicopters are imports from Taiwan (the home of Align) hence a saving of around 50 on UK suggested retail prices for certain models i.e Trex SE

This country is adept at ripping people off hence if I can find a product cheaper I will and subsequently lower the price.

Spares will hopefully be along shortly at lower prices.

                  Thanks

Having spares is not customer service, you can have spares but offer no customer service. Like I said we are expecting shortly.
Every rc heli line we stock when people purchase we give them a 10% discount code we also run a scheme whereby if you spend 40 you get 10% off spares for life. As well as 5 different postage methods 1st, 2nd, next day, standard parcel, 9am delivery to suit all budgets. Now that's customer service!

                          Hi
Our local store has been known to raid Kits for spares
if we need them urgently. Now thats not to bad.

Of course breaking kits down may sound bad until you see how
much spares are vs a kit.

Spares is where the money is really made.
