  • Crap Day

Well I certainly was not expecting this today.

My partners Cat, Bubbles has had to be put to sleep.

Her she is looking after Lynda who is in a lot of pain and on Morphene here.

I understand why my partner is so upset as she can't have children and she was her 'baby'.

Bubbles was a very timid and shy cat which my partner got from the cat rescue shelter 13 years ago. She moved in with my Fiancee 7 years ago almost to the day.

Recently she had developed kidney trouble and last night all of a sudden started vomiting and passing blood.

The kindest and hardest thing was to have her drift off while in no real pain.

Bubbles was definately my partners cat. She tolerated me as I was the bad one who had to force the tablets down her throat.

While I appreciate not everyone will understand I just thought I would mention how pets have a way of creeping into your heart even if your not a pet person, which I am not.

What makes it even harder is that I was the one who had to sign to put her to sleep.

Its a real surprise how sad I feel for the loss of a cat.

Just thought I'd mention how all of a sudden something that you take for granted can be missed so much when you least expect it.

Bizarre our cat of (yes 13 years too) also died just 3 weeks ago, My daughter got him for her 8th birthday and was part of the family.

Pets become part of your family and as always break your heart when they die.

I do know how you feel mate and it isnt nice.

Here he is doing what he loved best, Out in the fields.

Sympathies from me too...my cat was an utter git, used to bite and scratch and was almost feral. Cried like a baby when he had to be put to sleep and I buried him in the garden. That was a few years ago now, and we've just got a new cheeky kitten about 3 weeks back. Pixar we called him

We both feel for you and can’t find the words to say how sorry we are. We love our two cats to bits and haven’t yet had to face the difficult decision that you had to make but can understand that the choice made by love isn’t always the easiest one.

Our thoughts are with you both at this sad time.

I did the grim job of removing her toys and basket etc. Bubbles was a cat who would sleep anywhere so we had a few throws over beds and chairs etc.

I hope I have not forgotten anything as it upsets Lynda even more as she goes around the house seeing Bubbles favourite places etc.

Howled like a big kid clearing all that out

Heres a daft one, Got a pizza Delivered. Tasted so bland as Bubbles was not sitting slavering waiting for her bit of chicken wing that she always got!

                  Pets huh!

Lynda said to pass on her thanks for the nice thoughts.

                    I feel for you mate

The last cat we lost we had for 18 years and it was a wrench although the kindest thing to do...

It might seem hard at this time, but the best thing you can do is get another cat... the new cat will never replace the one you lost, but it does make the pain go away quicker... We currently have 2 lovely black cats (both RSPCA rescues)

                    All the best

Well that just sucks. I've always been a cat lover. Been there and done that. All I can say is go back to the shelter and get another little buddy.Dewey

Its heartbreaking as Clare & I understand only too well, we lost our boy cat Simba when he was only four years old, and two years back we lost our dwarf Loppy Bunny Berty to stomach cancer, they melt your heart in one breath and shatter it in the next.

Take comfort from the fact she had a wonderful life, she was loved and cared for just as any human family member, and you took the hardest decision any family pet owner has to finally take by regarding our Pets* well being against our own, which is the deepest love of all not letting them suffer any longer then they have too.

Be strong for your Lynda my friend, and let your tears flow in private, this I found was a huge source of strength when we've lost our pets, as when Clare got a little stronger she helped me, remember our lady's carry our emotions on there shoulders as well as there own, and in times like this we need to be that rock for them.

You've done the right thing by hiding personal reminders of her presence, as there far too painful to see right now, and in time you'll remember the happy times not the sad.

We offer you our sincere sympathy's
