  • First proper night flight, well wicked

Had my first full blown night flight today on my 450 all lit up, how cool is this. All started from watching the night flying at the 3D champs.
Feels a bit strange doing the manovers and the weight shows on the 450 but i loved it.

Will try to sort a short vid but only got a old digital camera so not very good at night.
The weight shows up on the 450, amd i am so use to running v-blades that it took a couple of mins to get use to the align ones but flew well, inverted low hover you have to hold the nose in alot more as the extra battery makes it fall away faster, and on a tail slide it headed towards the ground like a brick but looked well cool, and the tick tocks have to be smoother and bigger to keep the same height otherwise it falls fast.
On a bigger heli like a 600 would not show up so much i am sure. Maybe if my lad gets a superpro next year we can set the other 600 up for night flying

I just got in an hour ago from flying my knight50 in the dark.
It was really good fun, but it is rather wierd being in a dark flying field on my own.
I'm going to travel to find some other night flyers...

I was out for a session this evening, but it ended up with me and one other fellow flier at the field, and only me night flying, so didn't stay long. Had other things to get sorted

Damn good fun though - using my Trex600 at night these days and it's singing... The Align night blades have got a good amount of pop in them too!
                  Cracking!!
                  Cheers,

Hoping to go to merriot on friday and have a play with the 450 then.
Shame about the 500, if only, but i love the 700 and i think it has bought on my flying quicker than any other heli i have owned so i am not to unhappy about it.
Be good to see the 500 with night gear

I've been doing the odd bit of night flying on and odd with my 450 for the past year or so, and i love it. Give's a big buzz and just add's another dimension to you flying. I decided a few weeks back that i'd like to try it on my knight so set it up with 7.5m of el wire and a set of the align night blades. Sweet jesus, the noise of nitro and a much bigger machine at night blew me away. It looks enormous and so much faster than in the day. Cant wait to fly it again at night!
