      Off topic somewhat

But I'd just like say what a great Thread this has been- someone just wanting some straightforward opinions, on what is probably one of the most difficult question to answer; nitro v electric, that question probably has more forum pages than any other and TBH usually ends up with folks just fighting amongst themselves and the whole thing going tits up with just childish posts. Perhaps thats why I'm lurking on here far more than that otheRR site. Fair play chaps.

There is no winner when it comes to the fuel, whatever suits at the time is the best and heck over time as circumstances change your flying fuel changes as well

Great choice on the rex, it flys great, you won't regret it.

      Electrics rule BTW.....LOL

        Hi,
That is very kind of you. What a great community this place is. When people go out of there way to help and even go so far as to invite fellow members round to there place for help
If you have a flying site near you, I would really like to pop over to your local field when the build is finished and have you nearby and check her over for the maiden flight. I had no fears with the B400 maiden flight but with added expense and size of this model, an experienced pair of eyes and ears there would be great.
        Cheers, Rich

          Hi,
Indeed this thread has been a massive help to me in my decision. Like you say on many other boards, these type of threads usually turn into a mines better than yours affair. But this one was 100% great advice
There are some great folks on here who I am very much looking forward to meeting at some future events or clubs I join in the future.

When I got out of the car today in Yeovil I was still thinking of this thread and going over all the advice and thinking should I go electric. But thought I'll stick to my guns and get what I came for. At the end of the day I think I would have been happy with either.
looking forward to the build and even more to the flying.
          Thanks all
          Rich
          Cheers, Rich

No probs at all mate, have a field 10 mins away from me thats our club field and can also get on site at westlands you as a guest so should have a opportunity. Fly quite a bit with Adie and Stu from the HH so they will more than likely be there to help also.
Just let me know and i sure we can sort something out

Just popped back to this thread to see how you are getting on and you've gone and bought a 600NSP already! Nice one! Good decision going nitro for now IMHO.

I built a 600 Pro last year and it was really nice to build so the Super Pro will be even nicer. Plus I'm sure you will be very impressed how it flies.

Thats alright Rich, there are a few heli flyers in our club and they will make you more than welcome.
Superpro is a good machine as a first build, just remember, lots of grease on the thrust bearings and locktight up all metal to metal fastenings.
i have built 4 600's 1 nitro, 1 elec and 2 superpros, including Adies from the hobby hanger and that machine came 3rd in this years 3D champs last month so i know them quite well and find them a joy to build.
Just let me know when you think you have it sorted and can arrange a club day thats hopefully not raining

I am interested in this post as I have just bought a Trex 600 e. I am not too impressed. I have a Logo 500 which has tons of power, I think the 600 is lacking, however, I am sure some of you can recommend upgrades for the ESC and motor? Go for the 500 - good advice - 6 cell lipo for the 600 is not enough I think.

                        Hi,
Managed to start the build today. Got bogged down with other stuff yesterday and didn't get chance to start. Just finished page 14 so am probably approaching the half way mark of the build. Very impressed with the overall quality of the kit. Everything is very well engineered and fits nicely.
Couple of very minor issues so far. When building the head assembly I managed to put a couple of the link rod ball joints on with the A facing inward so popped them off and refitted the correct way round. They seem to fit just as well as the others. Should I watch out for them or will they be ok? Also found with the manual when I did the main body build, all went well but when you get to P12 and go to put the completed engine into the body I could not get it in as it would not go past the bottom bracket despite showing it does on the diagram. So had to take it off (after lock tighting the screws), put the engine in then re-fit the bottom bracket and landing skids. Happily the engine and fan mount fitted a treat.
Also around this point there are other things to fit not mentioned on page 10. Page 10 does not show the rear carbon frame braces or the carbon switch mount and carbon servo mount. These are fitted using the screws that hold the bottom frame mounting blocks. Again these are fitted with lock tight so had to be undone so as to fit them. Why are they not mentioned on page 10 when you fit the body together??
All in all though these are minor niggles and have just prompted me from now on to look ahead a few pages to make sure what I am doing won't affect something later on.
Also popped the main shaft and rotor assembly into the body and it slides in lovely (Oh err missus) and rotates nice and freely.
Overall, really enjoying the build so far
Roll on tomorrow evening for some more. Be putting in the servos then the tail assembly.
                        Cheers, Rich
