  • Great bike ride!

    Hi Guys

Back from a great holiday biking abroad. 2400 miles in 8 days taking in France, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. We couldn't have been luckier with the weather - we only had one short shower on the last day at the Mont St Michel

If there is one thing you have to do before you die that is to ride some of the Alpine passes, especially the Timmeljoch and Stelvio into and out of Italy. Awesome, simply awesome!

Bit of a shock getting back to work today

          A couple of piccies

We were too busy enjoying the roads to take many piccies, but here are a couple of Stelvio, and a couple of the Loire valley in bright sunshine

Thanks Dave. Yes we had one hell of a good time. Particularly sweet as it's been ten years since we were last able to go on such a trip thanks to a successful kidney transplant last October

I envy you that trip, especially on such a great touring bike.

I missed this years trip with friends and last years due to work commitments. I've done much of the same for years on my ZRX1100 which now has 50k on the clock and at least half of that around Europe. In fact having been to the continent, i no longer enjoy riding in the UK and only did 600miles between MOT's last year.

Roll on next year when i plan at least one trip, probably to the lakes in Northern Italy with my wife.

Hello, I use to have a ZRX1100 too. Really seats you in the right position, for the long ride. I did upgrade seat though. Then all my as my ex -wife would say manchild buds wanted to try out sportbikes. So thats where were at. Always complaining about numb wrist and sore necks and backs. I do love the handleing, power, but there are compromises. Dewey

Did the Stelvio pass in the summer on my Beemer. Great trip & the Top Gear team were filming at the top into the bargain.

The Alps by bike are just one of those things you have to do.....fantastic.

Absolutely! - we shall have to go again next year and do some more

Went out for a bit of a ride this morning. It's just not the same over here: cars everywhere; loads of shiny black rubber on the roads; gravel from unswept top dressing; horses; horse s**t; cameras; average speed cameras; unmarked cop cars trying to stop you from enjoying yourself....... don't you just love old Blighty?
