Really Not Happy at all, quite emotional actually.

This morning i did a few hops and clipped something, just a little blade damage i switch the blades and theres this massive head wobble, so ok... after i took the blades off and powerd up her up and see if i could see the head wobble, and main shaft abmomalities nothing... so

carnt see nothing wrong so i stick a new pair on and wobble, and wham my finger F*ckin slips and hits the idle up switch i switched it back and instantly throttled down but it took off still?.... must of been auto-rotation system but anyway... it lifeted of the small table and hit the old cooker...

so, damage i can see so far is..

Dent in Boom, Snaped Tail Support, maybe bent rudder control rod, damaged blades. new main gear, and my thumb sliced open.

and i... not sure what to say next

dad wasnt happy, mum understood why and accepts this sh*t will happen but my dad, oh no he has to shout at me..

    so yeah

there is no way im gonna be able to repair correctly her without someone showing me.... but i have been reccormended to see a niel in nottingham which i will do.

so thanks idle up.. and my clumpsy finger

    oh crap!
could have been much worse I guess!
Good luck getting her airborne again. Most likely cause of head wobble may have been a bent main shaft. I dont know if your heli has a feathering spindle but if it has that was probably bent too!
    any damage to the cooker?

lol, funny enough the feather shaft aint bent, and i could see nothing wrong with the main shaft when i took the blades off, but the cooker doesnt matter lol it was getting trown out anyways, im just really peed off

why dont they have a goddamn fail safe for idle up?

but yeah, could be alot worse...

Fail safe for idle up switches is the throttle hold switch. best to get into the habbit of using it when working on the heli live.

heard somewhere electric helis should not be ran without the blades on as the motor needs a load.

          Good news about the cooker!

Not sure if this will help, but what I did at first was make the idle-up 1&2 curves for pitch and throttle identical to the normal pitch and throttle curve. I also used the throttle hold switch, possible over-kill some might argue.

I've now put the settings back, but in the early days it saved me twice when I hit idle up by mistake.

Always, always, always use throttle hold.

I have throttle hold set when I connect the battery on the Trex and when starting the Raptor.

Only time (so far) I have had a problem was when I forgot to engage it and nearly burned out the clutch on the Shuttle when my hand push up collective.

Really glad I had a good hold of the rotor's.

              Play safe.

              Cheers
