The X90 does look on paper a better machine, but in practice the 700 will be more reliable. I have two 700's and never had a problem with either. Country & Western has also never had a problem with his 700 at all.

you will not go wrong with a 700 if you get one the parts are cheap that is why the RJX flyers at our club route around in the bins at the club utilising the align lads cast offs??
on a serious note you do need to consider the pricing off spares the RJX are dearer than the align 700.T-Rex 700N, OS 91HZ, 3xBLS451's,Align DS 610 throttle servo, Futaba CGY 750 with data decoder for JR radio, Hatori SB-20FH,DFC Flybarless head.

Its not the cost of spares I'm worried adout it's the quality of the machine
There seems to be so many isues with faulty parts and poor quality materials Someone told me the centre fell out of the swash plate on a new 90 kit
Think I'll go with the 700.

RJX 90 Swash check
A couple of members at RVMHC have noticed a problem with the swash center baring on the RJX 90. You can literally push the bearing out with your finger, this has happened on two new machines.
What we have done is to add a little bearing lock to the outer race and refit them. If there are any RJX 90 flyers out there you might wish to check your swashes as a precaution.T-Rex 700N, OS 91HZ, 3xBLS451's,Align DS 610 throttle servo, Futaba CGY 750 with data decoder for JR radio, Hatori SB-20FH,DFC Flybarless head.

Yep. The centre "rose" fell out of two brand new swash plates of the X90 (Timmy Malletts and "F" Steve's) at or club. They literally fell out without any pressure at all. There was found to be no bearing lock at all holding the "rose" onto the swash plate. The problem was solved by just applying some good bearing threadlock.Originally posted by Backdraft View PostIts not the cost of spares I'm worried adout it's the quality of the machine

Look chaps!! You just don’t appreciate quality when you see it. If you want to run the Vauxhall Astra of the range and celebrate 20'000 miles between services and accept that as mark of a good heli then crack on you numpties!!!!
For me i prefer the performance and accuracy and i will put up with the extra maintenance as i appreciate a heli performing at the top of its game i.e. My Ferrari F1.

OK. Lets talk about RJX quality then shall we, like the centre of your brand new swashplate falling out, mis-moulded ball links, "play dough" alloy, high spots on gears, skid struts that break for fun........ Need I go on? And by the way. What do you for a living? Oh yes - an engineer!!!
As you well know, one of our club members has ditched his X-Cell Stratus 90 for a T-Rex 700 because he loves the way the 700 flies, cheep parts, no re-building ever week etc....
We're not blinkered - it's just that with the 700, you build it (easily), fly it, put it away and fly again the next time.
So Mallett, lets see a direct comparison this weekend with your 700 (Oh yes I forgot you've also got a 700!) and your X90.......

Well I've had a good look at An RJX 90 kit now.No disrespect Mr Mallett but its not a Ferrari I would say the X-cells, Bergen, Avants are the Ferrari's and if as you say the 700 is an Astra In the Big scheme of things that makes the RJX about a good Mondeo, and in my opinion a little over priced for what you get.
