Has anybody here heard of/used Amax LiPos? Are they any good?

I'm looking for some new batts for my Blade, and there's a shop within relatively easy reach sells these.

Never heard of them, looks like you might have to be the guinea pig on these.
Buy one, use it and them come back and tell us if it's any good

FWIW (which may not be a lot), Maxpoly & Aurorra are my defaults for LiPo stuff (though Outrage seem to be getting good press here).

Maxpoly seem to be good, very cheap, and lovely people. (As in phone you up to apologise that your order won't go out until tomorrow).

I'm also looking at Ener-G ones. Brentford do them and I'm going over there on Thursday, they already have Deans fitted, only 1800 but should do my lil ol' Blade eh? I was planning on maybe 3 of 'em, as I only have a single 1800 at the mo. Are they any good?

John, I'm sure the battery's your purchasing are sound, I've never heard of them so you can only take the assurance of your supplier there good quality.

But a while back I flew with someone who had a Blade 400 with the 1800mah stock battery, I'm not kidding mate and I have two people who witnessed this, I took off about a minute before the chap flying the 400 and my 450 powered by a Maxp' 2100mah, and I was still flying 3 minutes after he had to land.

And even now my fleet of Maxp's still offer the same performance, the chemistry of Li Po's often dictate the amount of cycles you'll achieve with a battery, and in many ways the cheaper brands often only last a fraction of the lifetime more well known packs do, and even though the (2100mahs maxp's for example) are more expensive, by the time there spent they've given the flyer many more cycles, hence flights vs cost vastly out weights cheaper brands.

I will say this is what I've learnt from more experienced pilots and I haven't gone wrong yet with my Li Po's, thats it end of!

Do let us know how you get on with them mate, it's always good intell' having a review of the unknown, best of luck bud.

I must say that the talking woman thing on Blink's site does my head in... Looking at the Outrage LiPo's in the office the other day and she chirps out 'welcome to blink helicopters' across the office - marvelous, not...

                    Sorry rant over.

That ****es you off too mate, that's partly why I avoid that Site as it's so frigging annoying.

Biggest selling mistake ever, never wind up the customers, lol.

I've come across a couple of sites using that thing. Wouldn't be so bad if she had a half decent voice and/or you could turn her off.
