  • Which swash leveller?

    Hi Guys,

As it says really, Which swash leveller is a good one get?

I could do with getting one that will fit the Knights and the 90 sized ones?
I'd prefer one that you don't have to take the head off to slide on to the shaft but will consider one of those though.

    Thanks,
    Lee

It take a minute to take the head off Lee, buy one that fits snugly over the main shaft, Blink do them, you'll get a much better result - only problem is you need one for every size shaft.

I tried one lee, and to be honest with you... you can do just as good a job buy using your Mk1 Eyball, your knowledge and a couple of test flights and perhaps another set of eyes to confirm.

Perhaps the one i have is not very good, but it kept moving around wouldnt sit properly on the main shaft.

agreed the ones that fit on the mainshaft with head off are the best, i have used a few different ones including ones with bubbles and the compass one.

i have one of the blink ones for the 450 and its excellent, nice snug fit on the shaft.

I don't know who makes one for the Knight or the 90 that you have but I would like to add that the ones I have seen that you sit the swash on accomplish two jobs as far as I can see: it sets the mid stick position and it sets the swash level. Unfortunately it does not allow you to then check if the swash is level throughout its travel. So what the others have said is what I would go for. I have the Trueblood one for my t-rex 450 that sits on top of the swash and works perfectly.

              Thanks guys

I do it all by eye usually but my last attempt with the rebuild of the 3D was (is) poo. Maybe I just need to spend more time and be more critical with my eye.

I would be interested to know who actually uses a leveller regularly or do the "eyes" have it?
              Cheers, Lee.

Lee, I have them for 450, 500 and 600 - borrow mine and fly it by eye, then set it up properly then see the difference. They really come into their own by helping to get the swash level at full plus and minus pitch.

I've got a Trueblood one for my 450 and 500, and a canomod one for my knight. The Canomod one is ment for the Rex600 but if you cut down the spigots to about 2mm it works great on the Knight swash.

But why pay £7.50 for something that sells for £6 at Blink trading? That is a 20% difference. Do you regularly pay 20% more for your other helicopter supplies?
