  • thunder tiger innovator!!

just been reading write up in rotorworld on the tt innovator!

comes in both 3d mini raptor style and a scale md530!
    look very impressive!
    wouldnt mind the md530!
tt arent daft though as it reads as if the battery packs are coded with the heli electronics!if its not a tt pack it wont work! nice little earner eh!
also no servos!all control surfaces run from a single box! nice design and a very different setup! worth a look i thinks

      model 50ukp

      spare batteries, 200ukp :-)

im sure somebody will find a way round it. but after all this time you would think they would have developed something a little more interesting than a gizmo.

It begs the question are tt really that stupid to think that people will buy it and only want to use their packs? Seems like they are trying to teach people how to suck eggs. Very bad idea if you ask me...

Same prncable as printer cartridges... £50 for a printer and £30 for each cart..... Dismantling batterys seems like the way to go recover the eeprom and add it to a properly priced one and copy it to make more....!

TT: we have been market leaders but we are losing market share.

Marketing consultant: How can you make your products better than the others

TT: We don't know, the products are all very similar. We are also not making much on the spares sales, the competitors spares are cheaper and they made copy spares of our bits.

Marketing consultant: You need to spend a lot more on marketing. You need us to design you a fancy box to put the product in, and we can make you a nice video. Then we can come up with a way to sell the product at low cost and hook the customers in to buy expensive spares.

coding a product to only fly on own brand batteries is a sure fire strategy for not selling anything at all. I for one would not buy a product that ties you in in this way. Consumers want choice not forcing through a one way system.

Has this heli got extra stabilising systems like a Robbe Helicommand inside it to make it fly out of the box for the man in the street?
Maybe they justify the battery thing with safety. Battery only works on their charger and in their heli.
