Okay, mine wasn't on the forums:

me; I don't feel easy with these Deans connectors Joe.
    Joe: Why?
me: Do they do covers for them?
Joe: Sure, shrink wrap sleeving. Like this.
me: No, for the actual pins, you get a metal object touch 1 pin it shorts across both.
Joe: What? You've soldered 'em on wrong, the socket should go on the battery, the pins on the ESC.
    Me: oh, oops.

Me. New Rappy kit. First heli.

Cut the packaging off the blades. Also known as the plastic coating of the woodies.. Result - one set of blades even before the heli has been built. Doh.

Sort of a throttle hold situation Saves all that programming

Today - fretting like crazy whilst getting help doing the final pre-maiden checks on the 600cf and the tail stops working. The little blue light on the Spartan is just blinking away and the servo has no power to it and isn't responding. Look through everything trying to fix it and I'm getting more and more worried that I'd spannered a brand new Spartan DS760 and BLS251. Turns out that the TX is on the wrong memory, (was on the T-rex 450 memory not the T-Rex 600 one) a quick switch and all's well again, felt like a right tool with 3 people in front of me to see if they could help...

              A.

(the maiden eventually went really well!)

                I've domne that one
Carried the heli out, put it down, wouldn't rev up. controls didn't work.
I'd started the motor in tick over with the wrong model memory so it was in fail safe.
Fale safe is a wonderful thing.
                2.4 is also very good.
I always check the controls before firing the motor, or I think I do...this time I didn't

Many many thanks to David Drew.

I thought I was the only one that thought the plastic covering on my gleaming new Raptor 50 blades was just packaging, ripped it straight off.

Didn`t realise until the next day when I got to the end of the built and found the handy tip that suggests using a felt tip pen to mark around the plastic end caps so you know where to cut the film so that the epoxy works properly.
Stood there looking at it thinking..................."But i've taken all the film off already"

My first heli many years ago - a Scuttle, first flight after it's first crash and rebuild....... cyclic control was sooooooooo wrong.

I'd bolted on the phasing block at 45 degrees to where it should have been without realising it needed to be in a specific place relative to the wash-out etc. Think about it - you push the cyclic stick forwards and the heli goes off at 45 degrees forward and right, pull it back and the heli goes 45 degrees back and left etc.

Luckily, it was a far more experienced pilot who did the post-repair test flight and got it back on the ground without further damage.

                      Thanks.

When building my titan I put the top mixer arms on the head the wrong way round resulting in hardly any servo movement and -24 + 24 of pitch lol... Took me a while to figure it out as well lol ...Other great one .... leaving the fuel clip on while trying to start the engine ... .... just remembered ... taking my Titan to kesteven model fliers with me and forgetting to cut the hole in the top of the canopy for the starter shaft to go through hehe ...

changed the tail servo on the 450 a while back.
Spun up on tiles and confirmed rudder was moving the right way and then went for the test flight.
As heli lifted off it went in to the fastest piro imaginable.
It turned out the gyro needed reversing.

Needed a shovel to dig the head out of the ground.
