  • Best Flight Yet!

    Hey All,

As some of you know, im new to the RC scene (experience wise) and recently purchased myself a Belt CP, and had 2 blade strikes with it :@ , So today seeing as it was a fantastic day to fly i took it down a quiet empty park, and boy it was the best flight yet.

hovering at waist was ok, was moving around a bit but ok, then i add a bit more throttle to counter a little wind, and it goes away from me and above 15FT high, so i didint panic, turned the heli 360 nose in towards me, and flew it forwards, then curved to the left and landed, i was just lol, my heart was racing and i have just realised how importent the simulator is, without it i would have crashed, so once i landed i moved her away from the trees,

Start again this time it went towards a tree, so i pull back a little so she moved away from the tree, and then used the rudder to adjust the oriantation and landed her, phew again... this time my hearts about stopped, so i take a little time to reflect and started again.

Troughout the rest of the battery it was hopping, then above waist, then a little forward flight.

to me, i was pleased and impressed myself.

even tho the blades were badlyish out of track i was still able to fly her just fine, probably with a bit too much stick control then nessasary but due to the tracking i had to, i carnt wait to see how she performs once she has been fully setup correctly!

So, That this flight has been a Success! and my heart is still racing!

    Regards
    Callum

well done Callum! - I'm not much further down the line than you are (I have a Trex 450) and I know just what you mean about heart racing

Keep up with the sim - I'm quite sure I've re-couped the cost of Phoenix with a couple of close calls that I'd certainly not handled if it hadn't been for all the time I'd spent messing about in Phoenix

Callum, take a look at 'Finless' videos here http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=11373

You'll have to register to view them but well worth it mate.
Look at the ccpm vids for the T-rex 450. Obviously it's not the same as your blade, but the principles are.

Get it set up properly and you'll find it flies much nicer

              well done Callum,
it takes a lot of nerve togo out and make those first flights. It will be a steep learning curve. Good luck.
And as chugga-bug says, get them blades balanced it will fly a lot sweeter.
