I wanted to word the title differently, but that would have taken me down a level or two. Some will see this as a case of sour grapes, but here goes.
I decided to streamline my fleet of helicopters. I did have 5 i.c. and 3 electric models. So I thought I would sell a couple I wasn't flying much. One scale model went through the LHS and I advertised an electric model on a few websites. A few weeks of nothing and then an email asking for pictures and availability. Wary of a scam, I sent off a couple of photos and the interested party replied with an offer which I countered and we came to an agreement. However, the buyer was about 80 miles away and did not want to drive to collect the model. I am reluctant to post complete airframes, but was fortunate to have a friend based near the buyer. A quick chat with my boss allowed me to send the model via a reputable courier we use, at my cost of course.
Everything was arranged for the transaction. Zero hour arrives and I get an email from the buyer saying he has decided to buy a different heli from somewhere else. I'm out of pocket with the courier and I understand that it is his perogative to change his mind, but I think it's a bit offsides when he waits until the last minute to let me know. I would not have minded if he had told me earlier.
That's my rant for the month. :x
