Thanks mate, I can't imagine from my Layman's perspective ever doing anything as hard core as 3D flying, I take my hat off to you guy's who can do it without trashing your machines in five seconds.

For the time being I'll sit back and treat it as Voodoo & Witch Craft magic.

        Good on ya Wayne.
I really love my 500. When I moved from the 450 to the 5 I thought it couldn't get any better. Then I got a 600 and then the 700!!!!
I still think the 500 is a great heli though as it gives you a lot of confidence to throw it about yet still feels more stable, almost like a 600 really.
The only thing I havn't done with it is full autos as I just can't bring myself to try.
BTW If you think the 500 is intimidating wait till you get a 90.
        Keep at it.
        Adrian.

          bet I can guess LOL

well done wayne hope the flight goes really well, as ive said all the way through fabulous heli a real pleasure to fly and I think its really helped my flying because of the confidence its given me.

The size of it makes it less intimidating than a larger 50 ic but its just as stable and as ive said before it really handles wind well, ive flown mine in wind thats grounded alot of other flyers. plus the adder advantage of being able just to sling it in the boot turn up and fly, its one cool heli thats for sure.
          All the best
          Tony.

            Many thanks Mark.

Adrian thank you too bud' last night was an eye opener for sure, I love my 450 which is possibly the cheapest machine to fly ever, I want to build a SE V2 soon then my outdoor birds will be complete, as well as my home build.

Personally due to my limitations I don't really want to go any bigger then the 500, I've wanted one since they came onto the market, now I have a brand spanker with four minutes flight time to her name, I often wonder what it would be like at the controls of a Nitro Giant like the Rappy's, Knight's or 600-700 Rex machines.

What is the rota diameter of a 90 machine? It must be around 6ft isn't it?

Tony cheers mate, I'm unable to get out today which is a pain...Yea that sums it up a treat, lol, which is a pee off, but if I push myself now I have tomorrow to deal with and so on, plus I'd rather be fully with it next time I have the 500 out which will be tomorrow if I take it easy today.

But it was so strange, I was so pumped up like a kid on Xmas day while all the settings were carried out, but the nerves came in a bit once outside, but as soon as I had her in a hover it turned into one of those high moments, a bit like when I was learning and I managed to hover my first batt pack without landing, this is the big kid in me, but once landed and you engage the throttle hold, don't those blades make a fantastic Whooop sound lol, yea I know 39 going on 12.

Great news Wayne. Glad to hear you got the 500 airbourne

The 500 is great to fly - the confidence it inspires is fantastic. I'm sure your flying will come on in leaps and bounds with it

                      Have fun

To answer your question regards rotor diameter.
On the Trex 700 each blade is 710mm long and the head is another 200mm so all in around 1600mm diameter so about 5' 3" so yeah pretty big.
You know it when you try to stop the head from rotating by putting your hand on the head button and the blades catch your shins!!

I've got a feeling the sod's going for a Trex 700 pro, Lee you was doing so well mate thinning the fam' down a tad, now your sluting it up and I can see you soon with a new baby.

Thank you OB5, guess what I just done 10 minutes ago, I'm feeling better then this morning so it thought what the hell, five minutes of blissful hovering left to right for now anyway.

In a way it's nice having got the basics behind me with the 450, not that she's no worse for wear, it's just nice having something (for me) that little bit special, and just enjoy her without first time jitters, I can see what they mean about them being a great learning machine, but IMHO having learned to fly on a smaller machine as it makes a nice transition to other machines.

Thanks Eddie, I'll try and get a few shots of her in the air this week, failing that it might have to be the weekend.

Thank you John will do mate, oh BTW I watched your vid yesterday, good stuff, I hope those Turkey legs are off her now Bro' watching your flying you can see where the balls are making the flight a little unsteady, get rid of them mate, it only takes a few flights to get used not having them and your wonder why you took so long, take it from someone who's been there bud, she'll feel like a new machine once you take them off.

Thanks Adrian, that's one hell of a Rota span, I remember seeing Mike slow down the Rota's on a Rappy 30, anything larger would broom stick.
