new night blades

havng seen the MS night tail blades at north notts I was looking at heli-me who sell them and saw that there are some torson night 600 blades coming soon:

I'm thinking of setting up my knight for some night flying at charmouth, ideally i wanted to do my 500, but i dont think anyone has released any night blades in 425's. The 450 is just a bit small, but still great fun last year

last i heard, all flying at the caravan site has been banned after a couple of EDF foamy jets were seen flying over the main carpark :-(

there is a market for 425mm night blades and i'm amazed it has not happened yet.

at least £15 worth more than on the align ones going by the price

If you are thinking of buyig night flying gear be aware that Jamie at fast lad had a duff batch of glow wire drivers from align. They all went pop as soon as they were plugged in - he had loads of glow wires and no drivers at the notts fly-in. So just a warning to make sure the shop tests these for you before they ship.

I've been using an inverter from surelight.co.uk. Not as small as the align one but has been working without any problems for a year now. Align dont do their reputation any good when it comes to electic's which is the only thing that worries me about their new range of servo's!

I'm using one of these, about £10 from HK.
2x1.5m with inverter

Needs 12v or 3 cell lipo or its too dim. I'm powering it from my 2 cell lipo rx pack with an extra 2 cell nicad in series and it fine like that. Of course on a 450 its fine on the 3 cell pack.

For my knight I'm going to get another set and run two inverters then there is a bit of redundancy in the system (the inverter only runs 2 glow wires).

yeah I agree Jamie, it's the very reason I will hang way back off these servos and let someone else do the testing.
