  • jr x378

hi, im looking to buy myself the x378 set from jr but i cant find anywhere that tells you how many idle ups it has.

does it support 3 for normal, idle 1 and idle 2 plus hold

or just normal and idle 1 with hold like the old 652 and the new 2610?

also im not sure to have the ppm or pcm set.

    cheers,

the 378 does appear to have 2 idleups + hold

    http://www.macgregor.co.uk/radio/378spec.htm

any reason to go for JR?

the Futaba 7c also known as FF7 is a much better spec'd radio. Much nicer user interface and has a 7th channel you can use for controlling governors.

It has 2 idleups plus hold and you can use it as a master or slave for training.

price tag isnt much different and well worth the money.

    FF7 tx only is 150ukp
    2610 is 120ukp

If you can afford it PCM is the safest bet.

well i have only ever used jr so i know the spec of their servos etc.

i was to finance the pcm9x but as im still a learner i thought it would notbe worth themoney.

      cheers

you can mix brands of servos very safely.

at the moment i have a knight 50, with futaba and JR servos with a futaba gyro and a CSM rev-lock using a JR transmitter.

ok, after much thought my choice is now down to either the jr pcm9 or futaba ff9, the new spec with the digital servos.

rob mott set my heli up a few years ago and as ive spent quite a bit now on quick uk parts for my shuttle zxx i feel it deserves some nice rc gear.

i have never used futaba but do like the look and spec of the ff9. even though this only has the 5 point pitch and throttle curves i feel i would be able to set this up better than the 7 of the jr set. apart from rob trimming my heli a few years back i never joined the local club, instead i learnt to hover without training gear after 2 tanks of fuel, but since then thats all ive done.

anyway would i guess going to futaba would be a good choice? how is ripmax with sevice etc?
