4.8Volt or 6 Volt batterypack?

What is the difference when using a 4.8V and a 6V batterypack in a heli?
What is the best choice?

a lot of people go to 5cells to try to get better performance from their cheap servos.

this is a false economy. For most 30 and 50 size helis all that is needed is a couple of good reasonably priced digital servos. one on the collective one on the tail.

on non-ccpm machines i find that a single futaba 9252 on the collective and a good combo such as a 401 with 9254 or a 601/9251 are more than capable of dealing with most I can throw at it. 401 just lacks some sharpness and piro consistancy in backwards and fast traveling piros. not a problem for most of pilots.

on a ccpm machine a minimum is some cheap digitals such as futaba 3152 or JR DS811 personally I prefer futaba 9252 but unless you are giving it some serious abuse I doubt you will notice the difference.

all of the above will run on 4cells and all futaba and JR tail specific servos will not enjoy being run on 5cells.

Should it not be noted that most gyros aren't rated for above 6v which is where a freshly charged 5 cell pack will be.
