Dial Test Indicator?

Can anyone recommend a Dial Test Indicator. There are too many available and I don't know which one to choose?

Excuse my ignorance. What is one of these and what do you use it for with a heli?

What a coincidence - I just bought one and it arrived yesterday.

I got mine from Amazon. It's a 0.5 inch travel and is imperial so reads 0.0005 inch. Many small gaps are measured in thou. There are metric versions available if you prefer. Mine is a Draper Expert model and looks ok to me. Was about £20 ish.

I've also ordered a magnetic stand to bolt it to which I hope has arrived today.

I've bought mine because I want to check the run-out on one of my engines and fan/clutch assembly, so will pop the engine gently into a vice with the engine mount still attached, and stick the magnetic stand to the back of the vice - that's the plan anyway at the moment.

It measures very small increments on stuff, like how true is the fan/clutch assembly in your engine.

I'm getting engine vibes on one of my models, so want to check this out and fix it as necessary.

I got mine of Ebay, does what it says in the tin complete with magnetic stand. You can also use it for leveling your swash as well
