  • JR Scale Fuselage

Midland Helicopters list an Augusta A109 fuselage for JR 50 mechanics (Part No: JRH82A109) but I cannot find any info on this fuselage anywhere.

Is it painted? If so, what colours? Does the price include the retracts? I'm aiming to put my existing JR Airskipper 50 mechanics into it. Will it fit? etc etc

Does anyone have any further info on this product - a pdf brochure with some pics and detailed specs would be nice?

Pete Christy had a JR 50 size A109 at Charmouth. It was painted in the Swiss rescue colours and he flew it with a 4 blade head.

I saw him fly it on Sunday just gone at the Nats - very impressive.

The Agusta 109 that I flew at the Nats and at Charmouth is a standard JR kit. I'm not sure if its still available, but Kevin at MacGregors - or any JR stockists - should be able to find out for you.

Mine is fitted with the JR 50 size metal frame mechanics - can't remember whether it was called a Venture or Voyager - one was metal the other was plastic, and I always confuse them! But yes, AirSkipper mechanics should fit just fine.

I know Martin Briggs had one, but I believe he's sold it on.

Mine is powered by an elderly OS 46 FX-H rather than the recommended 50, but it does encourage you to fly it in a scale like manner! The head works well without the need for any virtual flybar system. Its not quite like flying a 2-blader, but anyone with a reasonable amount of experience will have no difficulty with one. However it is strictly non-aerobatic! (Fully articulated head!)

I don't know if its available in other colour schemes, but again, MacGregor should be able to advise. I suspect its a "special order" item!

Martin Briggs had the K&S blades out of my kit, so I just slapped 30 size SABs on it. Martins flown it, and reckons that they suit it better than the supplied K&S blades!

Steve Roberts has the 25cc gasser powered LongRanger that uses the same head, and that too flies really well!

I'll be happy to answer any questions anyone has on it from a flying angle, but I can't advise on availability! I simply don't know!
